Ege: What is your view on having your company an official member?

Mahmood: I need to learn more and bring it to the company

Kaz: Thank you for your presentation

Kaz: Your expertise is welcomed, but W3C does not usually allow invited experts from private companies

Kaz: If we as the whole WoT-WG/IG would like to get his help as an IE, I need to talk with the W3C Membership Team, etc., and we might be able to provide a 6-month trial IE status.

Kaz: Firstly, we need to clarify if we as the whole WoT-WG/IG would like to invite him, and I can check within the W3C Team if needed.

Kaz: Please note that during the 6-month trial period, the Membership Team will contact your company to seek for the possibility of your company's Membership.

Use Case Handling

UC TF - Use Case and Requirements

<McCool> https://github.com/w3c/wot/blob/main/PRESENTATIONS/2025-04-23-WoT-UseCaseReq-Process-McCool.pdf

McCool: <Present the process>

McCool: We want to motivate every feature in the spec with an user story

McCool: The User stories can cover multiple use cases

Daniel: The arrows can be flipped

McCool: will be fixed later

McCool: We will work through the process with the TD TF

McCool: <Present an example from the TD TF>

<McCool> https://github.com/w3c/wot-usecases/blob/main/tf-issue-process.md

McCool: I'll give the floor to Ege to explain

David: Who writes the User Stories

McCool: Mainly the TFs

TD TF - Project Management process

<EgeKorkan> WoT Project Management Process

Ege: <Presents the flow chart>

<EgeKorkan> https://github.com/orgs/w3c/projects/80/views/1

Ege: The diagram is implemented in the linked project above

Ege: IN the best case we should have a document like the one produced for the Reusable Connection

<EgeKorkan> https://github.com/w3c/wot-thing-description/blob/main/proposals/initial-connection/README.md

<EgeKorkan> https://github.com/w3c/wot-thing-description/blob/main/planning/work-items/analysis/analysis-historical-data-work-item.md

McCool: David do you have questions now?

David: I agree with the process

David: My question is on how is going to write the user story, in my experience the technologist isn't the best suited to do that

David: Maybe the community group or have something like the plugfest but for interested parties

McCool: That's why we have Use Cases and User Stories

David: Your definition maybe is the opposite I had for Use Case and User Stories

<dezell> My point - I mixed the terminology between user stories and use cases, so I think I misled Ege in his answer. My concern is on breadth of input on the >less technical< work product (use cases for us)

Ege: We have to make sure we always links between the spec features and the real life needs

Ege: Let me show an example from the community group feedbacks

Sebastian: I probably missed how the User Stories fit in the diagram

<kaz> TD TF's "Current Process"

McCool: The diagram of the "Current Process" needs an update

Ege: It would be part of the Analysis block (3)

Sebastian: Do we need to invest the effort to prepare a User story for each small feature?

Ege: It can be few sentences in a dotted list

McCool: We need to have a clear record

Kaz: Thanks a lot for clarifying the current status and procedure of the Use Cases TF and the TD TF, McCool and Ege. I think we should confirm today that we as the whole WoT IG/WG would like the TD TF to work on the initial trial use case descriptions based on the new UC template which includes the user stories, and clarify when to start that. Then we should make a resolution about that.

McCool: We'll have a resolution next week

McCool: We have a big PR for Discovery, next meeting we should review it

AOB

(quickly checked the status of the other topics, e.g., OPC UA liaison and NGSI-LD liaison)/
