Meeting minutes

Logistics

Martin: have updated a document to the "resources" area of the GitHub

Martin's slides

Minutes

<kaz> Jan-20

McCool: I have sent some small issues to kaz, which still need to be fixed

McCool: we need to clarify whether we mean the same thing when talking about north-bound vs. digital twin modelling

McCool: it should be north/sound bound (not "bond")

McCool: maybe replace "moattainai" with "a waste"

McCool: Minutes are aproved

<kaz> (typos have been fixed, btw)

Resources

<kaz> resource.md page on the wot-ngsi-ld repo

Martin's slides

<kaz> Martin's slides

McCool: make PR, even if you merge

Other resources

McCool: Should we add any more resources to the list?

Martin: We might want to also add the WoT specifications/documents

<McCool> https://github.com/w3c/wot-ngsi-ld/issues/4

McCool: I created an issue to add links to WoT Resources

Review concept document

<kaz> Martin's Concepts document

Slideset: https://github.com/w3c/wot-ngsi-ld/blob/main/resources/W3C-WoT-and-NGSI-LD-Concepts.pdf

McCool: I would like to create a summary, maybe create an issue while we are going through the document and put it elsewhere later

McCool: (summarizes the concepts on the GitHub Issue)

issue 5 - Summarize Concept Presentation from Martin Bauer

W3C WoT Concepts

[Slide 2]

Martin: (explains the slide of "W3C WoT Concetps" including the expectations for the Thing Model

McCool: Thing Model is rather a template for generating Thing Descriptions

Kaz: right
… so I think this slides shows "ETSI's expectations for the WoT mechanism"
… and that's still useful
… maybe we can change the title of this slide from "W3C WoT Concepts" to "Expectations for WoT Mechanism"

McCool: note that Thing Model (currently) doesn't have behavior information
… also WoT is focusing on the Thing Descriptions and the Thing Models are relatively new

NGSI-LD Information Model (Property Graph)

[Slide 3]

Martin: we have our own entities representing physical or virtual assets

McCool: "entity" is the core concept of NGSI-LD
… instantiate actual information based on that?

Martin: data model is out of scoep of ETSI ISG CIM
… Entity has Properties and Relationships (=relationship to other entity)

McCool: WoT do the data model
… but focusing on network presence

NGSI-LD API

[Slide 4]

Martin: APIs for retrieve entity, query entities, subscribe to entities, create/update/delete entity
… and actuation

McCool: interesting
… currently, WoT Discovery is just for the Thing Description

Comparison

[Slide 5]

(Comparison between NGIS-LD Entity and WoT Thing)

McCool: you're right. WoT Thing Description is about a single instance
… let's look at WoT Discovery next time
… it does have various problems
… but I can talk about that next time

<McCool> https://github.com/w3c/wot-ngsi-ld/issues/5

issue 5 - Summarize Concept Presentation from Martin Bauer

McCool: (then add "review WoT Discovery" to the TODO list for the next time)

Next meeting

Martin: when to have the next meeting?
… not available next week

McCool: in that case, I'm OK to make the call bi-weekly

Franck: better to keep it the meeting itself weekly, though we need to cancel the call next week

McCool: ok

[ Summary: No NGSI-LD liaison call on Feb 10; the next call will be held on Feb 17; We'll continue the call as a weekly call after that. ]

AOB

Kaz: just generated PDF based on Martin's Powerpoint
… OK to upload it to the GH repo so that we can refer to the slides from the minutes?

McCool: yes, please do

(Kaz has uploaded the PDF via PR 6 and then merged the PR)
