Meeting minutes

Minutes

<kaz> Mar-13

McCool: any objections?
… minutes approved

Quick items

IRC change

McCool: calendar entry for IRC is wrong now

Kaz: will look into it

time change

McCool: daylight savings time starting in Europe next week

McCool: reminder, the meetings are based on US Eastern time

IG charter

<kaz> strategy issue 440

Kaz: will send another extension request today for 3 months

profile call

McCool: will review profile later in the TF report

Notices

Ege: JSON Schema is starting up its own standardization body

<kaz> json schema discussion 671

<kaz> strategy issue 108

Ege: They are creating a charter and developing their life cycle process

McCool: this could cause problems if it's not endorsed by W3C for normative references

David: Not having JSON Schema endorsed would give Conexxus trouble, too.

Kaz: this is under consideration in W3C strategy

meetups

McCool: cleaned up some of the entries

Ege: There is a proposed Charter for Solid WG.

calendar entries for CG events

McCool: CG events could be added to IG and WG calendars, is there a policy issue with this?

Kaz: we should think about a feedback process from CG to the main group so people don't have to attend

McCool: people may want to know about the meetings

Kaz: people can subscribe to the calendars

McCool: ideally there would be a written summary or report from the CG back to the IG/WG

Ege: there is a template for use case feedback. We (as the WoT CG) would like to look into that.

McCool: we could link to event summaries and calendar entries in the main call agenda

McCool: anything from JP CG?

Mizushima: the JP CG are planning an event

Kaz: Quick correction for Mizushima-san's report. The JP CG are interested in organizing a possible Ideathon, but still working on how to bring their feedback to the WoT-IG as a use case description.

hiveMQ community event

Ege: there was good attendance and it was well organized

McCool: we should capture any requirements that might emerge

Ege: there was a question about discovery integration with TD

McCool: there is no standard for MQTT discovery, it may be an opportunity for WoT
… maybe should discuss with OASIS

Meeting schedule

<kaz> Cancellations

McCool: holidays are next week and AC meetings are the week after
… also Hanover Messe is coming up and people will be busy
… We are planning a chairs call because we'll have the main call on April 3

McCool: any other cancellations?

Mizushima: profile call on April 9 conflicts with the AC meeting

Luca: would like to make progress offline through email and issues

Daniel: difficult to make progress w.r.t. profile within Siemens since many people are on vacation

Kaz: FYI, Mizushima-san is thinking about publication schedule for Use Cases and Requirements Note (UCR) so that UCR Note can provide input to the spec work earlier.

F2F planning

McCool: haven't finalized date or logistics, but expecting Siemens to host in Berlin

<kaz> f2f wiki

McCool: please fill in your attendance plans in the table

Ege: what about involvement of people in the CG and outside the WG/IG?

McCool: Open day and the plugfest are open

Ege: we could invite guests on a one time basis

McCool: agree, not an open invitation but on a case by case basis

Kaz: we should clarify the basic agenda more so we can structure the participation

Ege: will send an email to the CG when we have the final schedule

Kaz: CG members are welcome for the Open day but not for the F2F (need to see the necessity), not sure about the plugfest yet

Resources

McCool: there will joint discussion during the TD slot 2 call tomorrow on March 28. I'll also joint that call.

profiles update

Mar-19 Profile minutes

Luca: had the first profile meeting to discuss work to do and how to proceed
… we have about 5o issues and a couple of PRs
… we have about 8 people involverd

Luca: first priority is profile 1, HTTP Profile is a candidate for a REC
… not sure about webhooks interoperability
… expect to provide information for the TD work

Luca: do we want to publish profile 1 as a REC?

McCool: we can't resolve the question now, we need to handle it asynchronously

Kaz: agree, we need to clarify the points on the github issue

Daniel: Note that actions are part of basic profile.. so I think all 3 kinds of profile are questionable

policy issues

McCool: please look at the github issues on policy and prepare to discuss

Kaz: when can we discuss?
… unavailable on April 10th

McCool: we could extend the meeting on April 3

McCool: discuss later

McCool: AOB?

McCool: adjourned
