Meeting minutes

back

Minutes Review

McCool: there is a small typo
… we should create a wiki page

McCool: any objections to publishing?

IG Charter

<kaz> strategy issue 440

McCool: what is the status

Kaz: the draft Charter needs editorial fixes, but already got ok from wide reviews.

Breakout Day

<kaz> Registries session minutes

<kaz> Schemata session minutes

Ege: (makes debriefing)

Registries

Ege: guidelines about registries should be added to the "/Guide" page

/Guide page

Kaz: we also need clarify our requirements and expectations for registries clearer

Ege: right
… would discuss that tomorrow during the TD call

Schemata

Ege: Ivan gave a comment on the difficulty with various schemata mechanisms
… we also have difficult with JSON-LD's double nature

McCool: what was the conclusion then?
… another breakout at TPAC?

Ege: think so

Kaz: as I mentioned at the end of the session, we need to clarify our requirements and expectations for this topic too
… for data model, validation, tooling for spec generation, etc.

Ege: would think about the resources for spec generation
… probably need some more explanation about that point next time
… but good to see many people have similar problems

Profile call

<kaz> mm: starting next Tuesday

meetups

WoT CG

McCool: there is one from wot cg tomorrow about matter

McCool: make sure subscribe and add to your calendars

<kaz> Mar-14 meeting

WoT Security Seminar of WoT JP CG

<kaz> summary from the wot security seminar on March 8

Mizushima: on march 8 we had a seminar

Mizushima: explain wot security mechanism and discuss what we can expect in the future
… I have explained wot security and privacy handling
… then Ajitomi-san from Toshiba explained it from the IETF side
… then we had a presentation from echonet about their security mechanisms
… we got feedback about authentication/verification in iot scenarios
… privacy protection and trusting data is important

Mizushima: we have found that it is important to bring the feeback to wot ig via use cases and requirements
… we should work on the use cases template

McCool: in the UC call today, we have agreed to meet in the security call to extend the template on parts about security and privacy
… we should also discuss updating our best practices document
… like what is the best practice for public service, personal data etc.

Kaz: at some point, we should consider creating a new use case based on the feedback using the new use case template

McCool: I have moved the nordic cg to collaboration

McCool: upcoming free event in hivemq about wot in mqtt

Kaz: it would be good to get such input from CG events in general like Mizushima-san mentioned :)

cancellations

McCool: next wednesday meetings are cancelled

McCool: I have updated the calendar

McCool: should we cancel the scripting?

Sebastian: I will ping daniel and ask him

Publication schedule

McCool: Ege, are you adding TD?

PR 1185

PR 1185 Adding TD FPWD to schedule

Ege: I have added the deadline of TD FPWD

McCool: by june, we should have all administrative stuff clarified

Kaz: need to clarify refactoring or new features

Kaz: maybe already mentioning a milestone for june

McCool: i am putting a placeholder for that in schedule

F2F in June

<kaz> 2024 f2f wiki

Sebastian: Siemens wants to host a F2F with a focus of WoT in Industry
… also have task force meeting and plugfest etc. next to it
… we want to ask who can join
… it will be in Berlin

Sebastian: even if it is a possibility, please indicate

McCool: we should discuss the format

McCool: we should know how long it will be

McCool: will there be demos in the open day?

Kaz: it might be too early to do plugfest at this stage? So would suggest we concentrate on spec discussion. Demos still can be done during the Open Day, though.

Ege: we can do a plugfest about profiles or binding interoperability
… or we can do some small demo booths of people but not necessarily a plugfest after the open day

McCool: I don't think profile will be ready by then. A virtual plugfest can make sense

Luca: online plugfest makes more sense

McCool: we should move on

Kaz: agree with McCool

AOB

Ege: just to make sure, next main call on March 20 will be cancelled. right?

McCool: correct

Ege: btw, some weird problem with W3C Calendar

McCool: maybe some problem on your side?
