Meeting minutes

minutes review

<kaz> Apr-5

Ege: very long call last week
… we closed a bunch of issues
… and discussed about prefixes of binding ontologies
… probably a next charter item
… interaction vocabularies -> protocol vocabularies

<Ege> interaction vocabularies -> Instruction on Protocol Vocabularies

Ege: subtopic pr 276 should be fixed
… it should be topic
… we worked on TD too and merge PRs
… after it we went through TD issues that were marked as proposed closing
… there are some still left

Ege: minutes looks good?

Ege: ok minutes approved

next week meeting

Ege: next meeting is canceled

TPAC topics

Ege: we have a wiki
… there is a section were we can list our discussion topics
… one of the big topics is JSON parsability together with JSON-LD.
… I would add it
… we will talk also with jsonld guys as well

Kaz: the main question can we wait until TPAC?
… or we should discuss this theme before TPAC?

Ege: I think we can
… there is also vacation time in between
… of course we could it earlier but there is no pressure
… do people see other topics?

Cristiano: canonalization and signature ?

Ege: right adding it

Cristiano: what about Thing Description linting?

Ege: mmm adding it, maybe needs discussion
… also it would be good to talk about planned features
… we can come back in the next weeks
… anyhow everybody can edit the wiki, just make sure you pre-fix your name
… or maybe you can open an issue

Binding Templates

Ege: we started the review process to be published as note
… if you note anything open an issue

PR 280

<kaz> PR 280 - Add conformance section to Modbus binding documentation

Ege: adding conformance section as in the coap document
… any objections?
… merged

PR 161

<kaz> PR 161 - Well-know Media Types content paremeters

Ege: bigger discussion
… it is still a simple change
… we have some cases when we need to add possible parameters to content-types

Luca: not great, the main problem it is not standard
… you can use special custom content-type

Cristiano: I sort agree, but the RFC should say that additional parameters are ignored by consumer, then it should not be that harmful to define our owns.

https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/octet-stream

Kaz: kind of surprised to see this proposal now
… how to handle binary streaming data is a big question for WoT in general
… probably we need to think about that for Binding Templates as well in the end
… but we should work on some more use cases and collect people's use cases and ideas first
… e.g., Connexus should have some experience about surveillance cam data, etc.

Ege's comments based on today's discussion

PR 274

PR 274 - fix: move sotd sections before the introductions

Kaz: note that the actual content of the SoTD section is generated by ReSpec
… so this is moving the HTML template for the SoTD section

<Ege> https://deploy-preview-274--wot-binding-templates.netlify.app/

(some conflicts there, but fixed)

PR 282

PR 282 - Initial work for vocabulary creation guide

Kaz: given we have only 4 people here, would suggest we discuss this next time

Thing Description

PR 1795

PR 1795 - April 2023 Implementation Report Updates

Ege: would merge this since it's just updating the Implementation Report

merged

Platform Bindings?

wot-binding-templates Issue 226 - Changing the Platform Bindings to Combination Bindings

Ege: we've already started review for the next publication
… so wondering how to deal with this proposed name change

Kaz: think we should think about this kind of refactoring during the next Charter period
… we don't need to rush

Ege: ok

Kaz: maybe you can add some specific label to identify it

Ege: ok
… let's put "refactoring" label then
