Quick Updates

<kaz> in US. Note the next use cases call will not be used for Charter discussion.

McCool: be aware of the time shift due to the Daylight Saving Time in US.

McCool: next week there will be the Use Case call

McCool: from March 20 we are planning to have a Testfest
… however, seems not enough time for prepearations

<MM review the doodle poll https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/b6WOR77d >

McCool: how about planning 2h testing on Thursday?
… seems ok for everyone

Ege: we can cancel Marketing call and use it for testing

Kaz: are we ready for the TestFest next week?

McCool: To be honest, don't think so...

Kaz: in that case, should be postponed

McCool: why don't we decide the time but look at another week?

McCool: we can postpone for 2 weeks

<McCool> proposal: Defer testfest by two weeks to week of April 3; have it on Tuesday at 10am Eastern; Wed at 9am Eastern (testing call); Thursday at 9am Eastern.

Sebastian: +1 postponing
… we can also use the TD slot
… but not perfect for people from Asia

RESOLUTION: Defer testfest by two weeks to week of April 3; have it on Tuesday at 10am Eastern; Wed at 9am Eastern (testing call); Thursday at 9am Eastern.

Developer Meeting

https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/tree/main/events/2023.03.DevMtg

McCool: does it make sense to also postpone?

Ege: we will have a conflict with the Hannover Fair

Kaz: What about the JP Meeting? I think that should be also postponed.

McCool: Let's continue this discussion during TestFest call later.

Societal Impact Questionnaire

<McCool> w3c/wot-architecture#897

McCool: worked on the Societal Impact Questionnaire

please comment on this

WG Charter

McCool: we already spent too much time on the content. We should not 'overengineer'

McCool: started to label the charter issues and PRs
… such as "New Charter Plans 2023", "TD Discussion", "Propose Closing" etc

McCool: some PRs improves the text such as in the introcuction and scope sections

https://github.com/w3c/wot-charter-drafts/pulls

McCool: also decided to keep Architecture normative for now

Sebastian: (also provides the policy on the discussion for the Charter)
… the details can be discussed later

Sebastian: agree to what MM said. We can also decide later about Architecture if REC or Note

McCool: yes. It is more easier to move from REC to Note then vice versa

Kaz: agree
… so let's identify which items to be included in the Charter, and which are not :)

Issue 45

Issue 45 - Do we keep Privacy and Accessibility Groups?

McCool: got a feedback from APA but no feedback from PING yet

Kaz: we don't need to mention either of them unless we have specific work items, but I'm OK with keeping the current text.

McCool: I hope, it is ok to keep the text about PING and APA

no objection

<MM closed this issue>

Issue 28

Issue 28 - Update Decision Policy

<kaz> related PR 91 - Add pre-announced CfC to decision process

<MM shows the new text in the charter about the decision policy>

preview

Kaz: we have 2 co-Chairs, so might make sense to say "Chairs" instead of "Chair".

<MM does some fixes in the PR>

McCool: any objection to merge this PR?

no

<kaz> merged

Remaining issues

<kaz> ramaining issues

Issue 14

<kaz> Issue 14 - Confusing use of the term "protocol binding"

McCool: I'm not sure if it still relevant?

Ege: still some open topics about naming, however is not a blocker

Kaz: we already added "Detailed Work Items" label to this issue, so this is not directly related to the Charter document itself. On the other hand, I think we should identify which remaining issues to be discussed for the Charter document. For that purpose, let's think about how to proceed with the discussion.

McCool: Yes, let's continue the Charter discussion discussion in tomorrow's Architecture call

McCool: we will have the Testing call in 10min

[adjourned]
