New Charters Review https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22Horizontal+review+requested%22

janina: We communicated the results of our discussion about "sometimes" to AG chairs.

janina: They may not yet have had time to respond about removing "sometimes"; they are likely busy publishing their CR before the moratorium (they can do this even with our objection), and planning TPAC.

janina: Regarding the charter: the existing charter was extended; management approved the proposed charter and forwarded to the AC for their decision.

TPAC22 https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022

janina: The wiki page is now almost complete. We've been busy on your behalf. We have all except 2 meetings scheduled (we're waiting to hear from i18n and the TAG).

janina: On Tuesday afternoon there's the opportunity for Spoken Presentation to respond to ARIA. PaulG, irfan_ali: please put a pointer to the TF's document in the wiki.

janina: We aim to get closer to a solution after discussion with ARIA.

janina: On Thursday, Dan Burnett will be joining us virtually, to take up an SSML questions.
… Also on the call will be Debbie Dahl who worked on Emotional Markup Language (EML) some time back. Debbie's given us a code snippet that I am to share.
… The questions about indicating gender, age, and emotions of voice can be addressed by this.
… (At the markup level at least.)
… Still hoping to get a meeting with i18n; we'll keep trying. Think they're busy/on long vacation.
… We're waiting to hear from the TAG on other issues.

PaulG: I will be prepping for the meeting over the next couple of weeks. We have a Google Doc I started; I'll go amend it and post as wiki page (for accessibility) for irfan_ali to review.

janina: Let's walk through the wiki...

Web of Things Accessibility

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Web_of_Things_Accessibility

janina: This is actually _before_ TPAC (in RQTF's slot, before this one, next week).

janina: They're using WebEx but Zoom is better for accessibility. We will dial in. Our main question for WoT...
… we need to put accessibility into the full stack "works with [voice assistant]" isn't true in practice if the 'configure it to work with X' part is not accessible.
… What do you do when a device loses connection to the environment? What if it's inaccessible to reset?
… We have lots of issues here and need to make sure they get documented and included in product requirements and documentation/packaging.

AGWG and APA Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#AGWG_and_APA_Joint_Meeting

janina: We'll be joining AGWG (and COGA) for the whole morning on Monday.
… The first slot is on Functional Needs. Then a break, then...

AGWG and APA Joint Meeting (with COGA)

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#AGWG_and_APA_Joint_Meeting_2

APA & Web Performance Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#APA_.26_Web_Performance_Joint_Meeting

janina: This is about the Reporting API. Check the wiki for questions.

janina: We think this could provide many interesting applications over time; want to find out how it works and what we can expect from it.

Coordinating comment guidance and WG participation responsibility (APA Hosted Discussion)

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Coordinating_comment_guidance_and_WG_participation_responsibility_.28APA_Hosted_Discussion.29

janina: APA-hosted discussion on how best to get comments on our published documents.

janina: We often get inaccessible (to us) submissions. Things not separated into discrete issues, or in inaccessible formats.

janina: We had a discussion on the last WAI coordination call about not just how to accommodate people's access needs (something we're always working to expand) but also the responsibilities of others to work collaboratively with us.

janina: We may want to update the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (CEPC) [pleaes read it; we've all agreed to it]

Spoken Presentation (APA Task Force)

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Spoken_Presentation_.28APA_Task_Force.29

janina: as discussed above

Oops; link above was wrong; the first ARIA meeting is: https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#ARIA_.26_APA_Joint_Meeting

APA & WHAT-WG Open Issues Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#APA_.26_WHAT-WG_Open_Issues_Joint_Meeting

janina: A couple of issues here; Adapt and also others such as notifications.

APA & Publishing Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#APA_.26_Publishing_Joint_Meeting

janina: Uncomon to have an 8am meeting, but we wish to include those around the globe.

janina: Lots of agenda to cover here (check the wiki).

Real-Time Communications & APA Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Real-Time_Communications_.26_APA_Joint_Meeting

janina: We want to ensure that this continues to be an accessible environemnt. We are listening to find out what they're working on. We may raise some concerns if any arise. They don't have any specific issues.

Lionel: How does this overlap with virtual meetings?

janina: They're one and the same.

CSS & APA Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#CSS_.26_APA_Joint_Meeting

janina: Our standing meeting with CSS. Lots to cover!

Lionel: Do we have that we're seeking a representative?

janina: Yes

APA & Verifiable Credentials Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#APA_.26_Verifiable_Credentials_Joint_Meeting

janina: We're seeing a lot of opportunities here, with tech that's been in devleopment for a decade, and is now making it to production.

janina: We want to introduce our thinking and test the temperature. We want to move slowly, but see lots of opportunity for building on their work.

Lionel: Our interest is in privacy-preserving profiles. VC's work has been designed to preserve privacy; we're very excited by this!

Timed-Text & APA Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Timed-Text_.26_APA_Joint_Meeting

janina: We've just had this accepted; they see the need for us to work with them on getting this published.

Spoken Presentation (APA Task Force)

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#Spoken_Presentation_.28APA_Task_Force.29

janina: SSML and EML, as discussed.

janina: Note: "Spoken Presentation" is the official name for the TF; "Pronunciation" is how we refer to it informally.

ARIA & APA Joint Meeting

https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2022#ARIA_.26_APA_Joint_Meeting_2

janina: This is Adapt-focused. We have a couple of issues arising from Adapt, and ARIA has an issue for which Adapt may be a solution (decorative images). Check the wiki for agenda.

Unscheduled meetings

janina: As above, we want to talk with i18n and Technical Advisory Group (TAG) [important when advancing normative specificaitons, such as the Adapt Candidate Recommendation's eventual goal].

Task Force & Deliverables Updates

janina: We have a few documents awaiting publication from TFs.

janina: APA has given the TFs standing authority to update working drafts (WDs), so RQTF's resolution is sufficient to proceed with publication.

janina: Note that we would absolutely need management and APA approval on First Public Working Drafts (FPWD), Candidate Recommendation (CR) and above. But we allow our Task Forces (TFs) to publish updated Working Drafts (WDs) on their own.
