Meeting minutes

review minutes from July 13

<kaz> July-13

Sebastian: reminder that we are testing next week. Please check for unimplemented assertions

Sebastian: any objections to publish?
… no objections. please publish

McCool: we are still having an Architecture call next week

Lagally: we would like to shift the focus of the architecture work to make progress on profiles
… doodle pool to find more meeting times

Sebastian: need to reschedule the DTDL call, wait until Erich is available again

McCool: in the meantime, we can review the DTDL document and prepare

TPAC

Sebastian: please use the wiki page to indicate your travel plans so we can plan the meetings and topics

McCool: we need to schedule a joint meeting with DID, maybe Monday
… they are open to all time slots

Sebastian: what is the status on signatures?

McCool: no news

Sebastian: should we meet with JSON-LD?

Sebastian: not addressing our topics in JSON-LD, maybe we should work with Linked Data group (Manu Sporny)

McCool: DID contact is also Manu, so we can coordinate with him

McCool: will follow up with Manu

kas: got response from Automotive proposing a joint discussion
… they are available for Monday and Wednesday

McCool: Wednesday is open day, we can have meetings also

Sebastian: prefer to be available most of the open day so people can come by

Kaz: if we mean "WoT open day" by "open day" here, we should hold that not during the TPAC week but should have that during our own remote f2f one week earlier.
… we should focus on joint meetings with the related WGs listed on the f2f wiki during the TPAC week.

McCool: we can have a separate open day event

Sebastian: will we meet with the accessibility group?

McCool: there is a concern that we can model physical affordances

McCool: there is an additional demo of RIOTOS from Philip

McCool: still organizing the demos

Kaz: we should clarify the relationship between the demos and the plugfest

McCool: lets discuss more in the testing call

<McCool_> https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/main/proposals/deliverable-proposals

<McCool_> https://github.com/w3c/wot/issues/978

McCool: another thing, we have been capturing next charter items in the wiki
… we need more structure to prepare for the TPAC discussion
… write up some text for each potential deliverable
… write the updates in HTML format in the md document

Sebastian: registration is open, there is an early bird discount

publication, wide review

Wide reviews

Sebastian: no news

McCool: the TAG review has some comments that need to be addressed
… we added some new assertions for security and privacy that are hard to test
… they need to be reworked to render them testable
… or informative
… we need to do this before CR transition

McCool: not aware of any other issues

TD working draft

Kaz: ran pubrules checker
… still need to describe the changes since the March WD

Sebastian: changelog, let's discuss on the TD call
… Discovery, resolved to pblish a new working draft

Architecture working draft

Sebastian: Architecture?

Lagally: last week had to review many MRs. PLease review these offline so we can make better progress in the meeting

McCool: hope we can be ready to publish the WD after tomorrow

<McCool_> proposal: proceed with publication of a WD for Architecture 1.1 based on the current draft in PR780

RESOLUTION: proceed with publication of a WD for Architecture 1.1 based on the current draft in PR780

Sebastian: we need to publish an updated version of the Binding Note

Lagally: wanted to thank mccool for helping with the architecture document and will add him to the editors list

McCool: planning to cancel all meeting next week except for Architecture and Profile

Sebastian: we will have Slack to use for communication
… please review the testfest plan

Ege: the process needs to be improved around feature freeze

McCool: we need to take a copy when we do a feature freeze

Ege: confusing and hard to keep up across many testfests

McCool: there were a lot of bug fixes along with the tests

McCool: be careful making changes in the data after the test, there are downstream effects

Kaz: let's discuss organizing resources at the testing call

charter extension

<kaz> Issue 978 - Goals and Deliverable Discussion for WoT WG 2023 Proposed Charter

Sebastian: provide comments

DTDL

Sebastian: will reschedule when Erich is available

OPC-UA

Sebastian: doodle pool review, looks like the 28th is a good option
… looking at the poll result to see
… will update the WoT calendar

WoT-CG

Ege: updated the CG charter draft and looking for review and feedback
… there will be a meeting on Monday to review in real time

Kaz: there are 2 separate calendar invites, the 21st and the 25th
… the 25th is the correct date

TF Reports

Sebastian: topic: TF report outs, any highlights or announcements?

Lagally: profiles update, revisiting a MR that needs to be rebased, had some discussion about event protocol, the call is busy with many topics
… we will probably not change the schedule until after summer break

Lagally: we have had problems with key stakeholders missing meetings and not keeping up

Ege: this may be more of a problem due to remote working, we should continue to discuss the asynchronous working method

Sebastian: we need to close the meeting now, and continue this discussion

McCool: suggest we discuss this in TPAC...

Kaz: if we really want to discuss this topic, let's add an agenda item

Sebastian: would like to adjourn, having the testing call at 10 past the hour
… adjourned
