<kaz> W3C Patent Policy 2017 for WG

… I'm interested in WoT to align DTDL and WoT

Minutes

any change requests, objections?

no

quick updates

McCool: no cancellations so far
… are there any cancellations in next time?
… seems not the case

Microsoft cooperation

Erich: we will join the WG soon, expecting no pushback

<McCool> https://github.com/digitaltwinconsortium

<McCool> https://github.com/digitaltwinconsortium/ManufacturingDTDLOntologies

Erich: I'm also involved in Digital Twin Consortium

<McCool> https://github.com/digitaltwinconsortium/ManufacturingDTDLOntologies/blob/main/Models/Station.json

Erich: I saw presentation from Sebastian about OPC UA Binding for WoT. I had a similar idea with DTDL
… I lead the group called UA cloud library
… in DTDL there are difference between model and instance

<Erich explains the linked json example>

McCool: we currently setting-up formal collaboration with OPCF
… we discuss currently the claims
… we are currently at the end of our current charter and do plans for the next charter

Erich: another point is tooling that I have. Transforming DTDL to WoT and vice versa

McCool: we planning a TestFest for July
… a prototype for there would be great

McCool: for OPC UA we have an markdown and collecting objectives
... would like to organize the DTDL liaison like that

<kaz> wot PR 1020 - Technical Objectives and Requirements for OPC UA liaison,/WoT Binding|

Erich: yes, I think we can make improvements in the context of interoperability here

Sebastian: I'm organizing a joint meeting with OPCF and W3C WoT members. I keep you in the loop.

Lagally: would be cool to involve you in the Profile discussion.

Erich: onboarding at Microsoft usually takes 2-3 weeks

Kaz: in summary, we'd like you to join our WoT standardization discussion (e.g., on Use Cases, Profiles, Plugfest demos) directly as a representative from Microsoft as a W3C Member, and it would require some specific procedure. We can talk about the detail of the procedure offline./

<MM explains the WoT meetings and the TFs>

Lagally: we have the IG Use Case call, it would be great to invite Erich to introduce DTDL

<McCool> https://www.w3.org/WoT/activities/task-forces/

Kaz: let's have some more discussion about how to proceed offline, e.g., by email and possibly a separate call with Erich.

schedule changes

McCool: suggestion to suspend the Use Case Call till one month before TestFest event
… what do you think about this?

<McCool> https://www.w3.org/WoT/IG/wiki/Main_WoT_WebConf#Use_Case_Review

Lagally: everyone is busy, doing spec documents done etc., that was the motivation to suspend. However due to the new Microsoft involvment we should use one of the next calls to have the DTDL introduction

Lagally: another proposal would be a monthly schedule and if there not topics we can cancel it

McCool: we can use the use case call's slot for the editors call, and possibly have those calls alternatively bi-weekly.

Kaz: how about having DTDL presentation during the main call? also we should continue to include the use case coverage discussion during the Editors calls.

McCool: we can have DTDL during main call (next week or later) for 20 min. Discussion about requirements we can do during the use case call.

wide review

McCool: we have almost done all review requests

https://www.w3.org/WoT/IG/wiki/Main_WoT_WebConf#Wide_Review
… Discovery is still in WIP, explainer not done yet
… TAG is largely happy with current status, however, waiting until Arch is ready
… there is an email about accessability
… already respond in the public mailing list

Lagally: for what we are waiting for Arch?

McCool: we need just to review the issue. If everything is ok, when can submit it

<MM goes quickly over the agenda>

Kaz: note that Michael Cooper mentioned on GitHub that they might have been going to give some more comments.
