IE request

McCool: got a request for IE from Alexander Power
… but we're not sure about his affiliation, etc.
… we can invite him to the main call to give presentation
… but maybe it would make sense to ask him to start with the WoT CG

Kaz: ok, will respond; mm and seb can add comments

ACTION: kaz to respond to Alexander

Daniel: think we should also ask about his interest
… not marketing, not really the best place to start

McCool: although part of the problem is the "marketing" TF has the wrong name; should be community outreach
… although use cases also makes sense

Kaz: CG members can also do technical work, eg. for use cases

McCool: true

Tools for W3C Spec work

<kaz> Tools for W3C Spec Work

Sebastian: do we want to do this today?

Kaz: all the editors need to understand some key points

McCool: perhaps a 5m summary?

Sebastian: ok, let's do that

Kaz: (shares pres)
… starting point is /Guide, but complicated
… pres has information for each role: chairs, editors, participants
… also some info on how to use irc to take minutes
… some notes on development notes for editors
… process, wide review

McCool: note in particular issue labelling

Kaz: info on static HTML, other resources on namespaces, etc.

Sebastian: how can I generate a static version?

Kaz: see some recent emails, there is a readme now
… but basically can use ReSpec menu on draft, "export", then download HTML, then upload it
… then can use pubrule checker, etc.

McCool: note that *-needs-resolution labels should be applied by reviewers, not us

Sebastian: and can anyone start minutes with IRC?

Kaz: yes, instructions on slides

OPC UA

Sebastian: will be organizing joint meeting, but after Easter vacation

McCool: so, earliest it would be April 25

Sebastian: correct

Quick Updates

Cancellations

Sebastian: several cancellations due to vacations: Editors, Profiles, Architecture, Use Cases, also Scripting API

McCool: probably generally poor attendance the next two weeks

Sebastian: and is Discovery cancelled April 18 due to Easter Monday?

McCool: ok, guess we should cancel Discovery on April 18 as well

McCool: in the meantime, I plan to work on PRs, etc.

Sebastian: reminder that can use the W3C calendar/planner

McCool: I also added a link to this to the top of the wiki in the "WebConf" section

Japanese CG

Mizushima: next event April 22, reservations are open, 43 registered...
… see connpass link in agenda

Use Case Due Diligence

Sebastian: coverage table, ege will look at binding templates

McCool: I will be looking at discovery, and updating requirements table proposal

charter extension

Sebastian: got some comments from Sam Weiler, regarding template, etc.

Kaz: I have addressed the links to the new IG charter and the copyright notice
… I will talk to PLH again, we are still waiting

McCool: I also asked whether we really have to update to the new template

WG recharter

<sebastian> https://github.com/w3c/wot/issues/978

Sebastian: you can add your ideas to the charter
… each TF should discuss on their own

Ege: I think we should use the use case coverage table to identify work items for the new charter

McCool: yes this is the intention
… however, if there is already an issue in a spec, they should be taken into consideration

Publications

Discovery

McCool: it is frozen but we have identified gaps in the implementations
… we have cancellations for the next two weeks though

TD

Sebastian: we have this issue on the w3ctag repository by mmccool

McCool: for discovery we are lacking the explainer

McCool: I will create a PR for discovery

Sebastian: you can reuse the explainer from the TD

Extension Plan

<sebastian> https://github.com/w3c/wot/blob/main/charters/wg-2021-extension-plan.md

Sebastian: we should update the extension plan with new dates

Marketing

Success Story for Standict

Ege: got contact from the W3C ERCIM Team
… checking with the W3C MarComm Team now

WoT CG collaboration

Cristiano: we are working with Ege to draft a new charter

Kaz: how to proceed with the discussion?
… marketing call? or main call?

<cris> +1 for the having during the marketing call

Ege: we will host a feedback session with the CG, also check activity

Ege: we can talk during the marketing call and present the results in the main call

Testing

Sebastian: will there be Testing call?

McCool: fady told me that he cannot make it

McCool: I will chair it and have some updates on the home assistant set-up

Liaison

Kaz: will have discussion on CDD collaboration with the new IEC contacts on Apr-18. will bring back the results to the next call.

TFs

Sebastian: there will be the TD call next week, Ege will moderate it
