Editors call

McCool: need to think about the updated publication schedule
… also new doodle is ongoing to find a better slot

doodle

Sebastian: would prefer Tuesday

McCool: Tuesday at 6am ET then

McCool: let's propose to move editor's call to tuesday 6am eastern, right before the marketing call

<McCool_> proposal: move editor's call to tuesday 6am eastern, right before the marketing call

<McCool_> proposal: move editor's call to tuesday 6am eastern / 11am UTC, right before the marketing call

<McCool_> proposal: move editor's call to tuesday 6am eastern / 11am UTC, right before the marketing call, starting Jan 25

RESOLUTION: move editor's call to tuesday 6am eastern / 11am UTC, right before the marketing call, starting Jan 25

Updated publication timeline

McCool: after talking with michael lagally I have put proposed dates for schedule
… we have already missed some deadlines
… wide review can start anytime, we do not need feature freeze

McCool: it is proposed to delay the testfest by one month, so everything else as well
… it is a PR so anyone can add comments

Lagally: I would like to comment
… it is confusing if you think in the context
… we need to push 6 weeks since we have delayed everything by 6 weeks

<kaz> PR 1010 - proposed updates to WG extension schedule

(see comment on the PR 1010 by mmccool that has michael lagally comments)

McCool: do we want to do the testfest for td and discovery and do profiles later?

McCool: what is a realistic time for the next testfest and backtrack from that

Sebastian: is the feature freeze for profile really realistic for end of Jan. ?

McCool: we had discussions on this in the profile call

Kaz: please remember that we need to wrap-up the document consistency check among all the 4 normative specs (=all the normative sections' descriptions within the 4 specs are consistent and nothing is missing) as the basis of further discussion. so we need to finalize that first. if those 4 specs are not consistent, it wouldn't make sense to extract assertions. however, we've already started to extract assertions from the specs, so we need to generate the assertions again after finalizing the consistency check.

WoT-JP CG update

Mizushima: 2nd kick-off event on Jan-28, several more events on outreach also planned. btw, would like to know how to update the marketing page with those events.

Daniel: can update the marketing page if you let me know about the event.

Mizushima: will do

Sebastian: kajimoto-san published an article on linkedin about wot

<sebastian> https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kazuo-kajimoto-24224742_web-of-things-wot-as-iot-standard-in-smart-activity-6889152346018983936-nJn6

Kaz: kajimoto-san has been working with mizushima-san in the WoT JG and then they will bring the consolidation point to the use case call

Lagally: what about the WoT CG

McCool: we will come to that

publications

Use Case Note

Kaz: use case publication should be done using the automatic pub tool, Echidna.

TD

McCool: how is the process in the TD

<McCool_> proposal: publish the current editor's draft of the TD1.1 document as an updated WD.

Sebastian: there are two discussion level PRs that can be done after WD
… otherwise some PRs that are mostly editorial

Kaz: do we want to make resolution in this call

<McCool_> proposal: publish the current editor's draft of the TD1.1 document as an updated WD. This does not preclude additional PRs under discussion prior to CR.

Kaz: I thought you wanted to make a resolution in the TF call but do we want to make a WG resolution without making a TF resolution? That's also fine, though.

<kaz> McCool: TD will discuss remaining issues and make the TF resolution today, then WG resolution during the main call next Wednesday. Is that OK?

<kaz> is recorded in https://www.w3.org/2022/01/12-wot-minutes.html#t14

Sebastian: yes, would like to publish the updated WD

<McCool_> proposal: publish the current editor's draft of the TD1.1 document as an updated WD. This does not preclude additional PRs under discussion prior to CR.

RESOLUTION: publish the current editor's draft of the TD1.1 document as an updated WD. This does not preclude additional PRs under discussion prior to CR.

ITU-T SG20

McCool: we got a ping from ITU-T SG20. They asked for our final presentation

McCool: any other updates on liaisons?

Lagally: it would be good to talk about use cases, architecture guidelines

Lagally: I have some slides from the IEEE contribution

McCool: if you have some slides, you can send them to me
