Meeting minutes

Guests

Fabien: from Siemens working with Christian

McCool: please be sure about the W3C Patent Policy

W3C PP

McCool: please join the IRC as well

we have a guest, Fabien Amarger

from Logilab

Fabien: working with Christian from Siemens

Fabien: (introduces himself)
… working on discovery

McCool: sounds great
… we need a second implementation
… would be great if you could join the Discovery call

Christian: would like to use the Plugfest to get experience

McCool: ok
… would look at geolocation information

Cristiano: what would you like to correct information on discovery?

Christian: there were issues on the GitHub from McCool

McCool: if it's a feature request may be appropriate to track it using GH issue
… there are issues on wot-testing repo about projects

Christian: would get feedback to our implementation

McCool: ok

Projects

McCool: e.g., I myself would like to work on geolocation information

Christian: meanwhile you can send by email to me too

Kaz: McCool, just to make sure, are you suggesting we create Issues on GitHub for Projects even from now?

McCool: yes

Kaz: ok

Logistics

McCool: any updates?

(none)

PRs

PR 166

PR 166 - Update NHK project

McCool: asked several fixes
… and updated
… (goes through the PR)
… also active.csv

<sebastian> Kaz, Im back

<sebastian> many thanks

<sebastian> ok to merge PR #166?

<sebastian> ok

merged

PR 161

<sebastian> next PR, https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/pull/161

<sebastian> Composed TMs from Siemens

Sebastian: two use cases there
… TM is also provided

McCool: ok
… wondering about validation for TM

Ege: no

PR provides two composed IoT systems: Smart ventilation and smart manufacture - bottle filling system

McCool: does also TMs are tested?

Ege: no

PR is going to be merged

PR 163

PR, https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/pull/163 from Hitachi

adds Hitachi's devices to the device active.csv

<kaz> (some discussion on the size of the wot-testing repo)

Kaz: we can archive this repo and create a new one for the current work in the future

PR 164

next PR, https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/pull/164 from UNIBO

TD shall be valid, since they are generated from node-wot

PR 165

next PR: https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/pull/165 from Intel

there is a camera with geolocation information

McCool shows a live stream of the camera

PR not ready to merge yet

TDD

Christian: we can talk about the TDD

Fabien: framing is not working if there is no @type

@type is optional

McCool: proposal would be if there is a @type missing then should be added
… we should solve the problem without changing the TD

Christian: for the PlugFest we fix in the implementation

Kaz: yes
… then we have the round trip problem. TD --> TDD --> TD
… we lose information

Fabien: we lose title, titles, description, descriptions

Christian: then there was a problem with Ege's TD, there is "%" character used
… for an unit

Fabien: transforming this to RDF will transform "%" to an URL which is not valid

there is also an issue https://github.com/w3c/wot-thing-description/issues/1210

there is also the discussion if we should use the "unit" only for linked data and not for human readable values

<Ege> https://github.com/w3c/wot-thing-description/issues/1202 related issue

Kaz: btw, would like to remind Siemens also should add description on (1) main README.md about the summary, (2) Projects about what to be tested and (3) active.csv about the status in addition to the TD itself

Ege: we can exclude specific character like %

<kaz> TUM's ConveyorBelt1 TD example

PRs - revisited

PR 169

<kaz> PR 169 - Added active devices to the active.csv list

going to be merged

What to do tomorrow?

Kaz: can we start actual connection tomorrow?

McCool: need to update the implementation report
… will work on that today

AOB?

question about TM validation

starting with validating TM as TD is ok

TM example

<Ege> https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/issues/170

Kaz: let's continue the discussion tomorrow
