Preliminaries

<scribe> New member Jan Suran from Fiserv introduces himself.

Jan: mainly looking at devices, smart devices as a payment device. Bluetooth terminals, will have some applications in the future.
... I'm enterprise architect on the "acquiring" side, have a telco engineering education.

McCool: payment terminals for retail?

Jan: yes, some use cases, e.g. taxis, we also sell to banks.

McCool: we have some retail use cases, will follow up later.

Minutes of the previous calls

<kaz> July-15

<kaz> July-22

McCool: kaz, can you please add a link to the presentation we had last week

Kaz: yes

McCool: no objections, minutes are accepted

Quick updates

Ege: some issues were dated 2017 in the main repo, there were no dedicated TF repos in those times

<Ege> https://github.com/w3c/wot-thing-description/issues/936

Ege: hope to finish cleanup mostly today. For remaining open issues I created a dedicated issue in the corresponding TF repo
... naming conventions and a link in the issue reflects the originating issue
... you can see the order of my closed issues by searching for "recently updated"

McCool: can we add a label to indicate a moved issue?

Ege: yes, will use label "moved"
... there were some interesting issues, each TF should look into their new issues

McCool: TFs should do a cleanup as well

Upcoming meetings

McCool: I updated future meetings, will add MiniApps later

Kaz: MiniApps online meeting is tomorrow and Friday
... we can join the sessions on Friday, there is a session on MiniApps and IoT
... I will join the meeting

McCool: please make reports next week

IETF 108 & WISHI

McCool: meeting is ongoing this week
... there's a WISHI call tomorrow
... ... Michael Koster, are you attending?

Koster: yes

<McCool> IETF 108 agenda

McCool: <walks through the IETF agenda>
... WISHI workshop does not require payment, there's no conflict of tomorrow's call with WoT meetings

Koster: Microsoft will present their digital twin definition language
... other topics: Semantic technology language, CoAP and RDF

Architecture slot

<kaz> Doodle results

<inserted> scribenick: kaz

Lagally: we used to have two calls for architecture but should combine them

McCool: merging the two architecture calls and use the current marketing slot is the plan

Lagally: wondering about the meeting for tomorrow
... let's start the new architecture slot next week

McCool: and let's find a better slot for marketing

<scribe> ACTION: kaz to create a doodle for a better slot for marketing

Lagally: when to start the new slot usage?

McCool: current settings for next week

<inserted> scribenick: mlagally

McCool: tomorrow the schedule is unchanged

<kaz> ... meanwhile lets search for a new slot for marketing

McCool: let's aim for a 2 hour architecture slot for next week
... and a decision on the new marketing time slot

ITU-T liaison

Kaz: official liaison started with ITU-T
... we had already an ITU-T presentation in the use case call last week

<kaz> ITU-T SG20 liaison on the W3C liaison table

Kaz: I proposed to have the UC call weekly, will bring it up in call on Aug 6th again

McCool: note to Jan, there is a table on all the WoT web confs

<kaz> WoT webconf table

Publication schedule update

McCool: we used a tool to calculate publication dates
... groups committed to have FPWD by Sept
... last possible dates for phase transitions have been calculated
... last date for FPWD is 19 Aug 2021
... we need a couple of months to go through the review process
... specifically for security
... target for CR transitions should be August 2021

Lagally: better make it July taking past experience into account

McCool: that's reasonable
