<tzviya> title: epubcheck meeting

On the bus (as is Brady), so mostly muted.

Okay, I can scribe for at least 30 min.

<Julian_Calderazi> Welcome Betsy :)

<wolfgang_> *welcome Betsy!

Now all that remains in the work (oh boy!).

<rdeltour> test suite cleanup instructions: https://github.com/IDPF/epubcheck/wiki/TestSuiteCleanup

Comfortable with directions currently.

<Julian_Calderazi> +q

Not too much progress on issues, due to vacations.

Work shouldn’t fall to only a few folks!

Julian can help with 4.1 marketing.

topic test suite cleanup

Romain put together step-by-step instructions.

Phase 1: port the test data (EPUB samples) to new structure (in they are useful and rewrite them using minimal skeleton put together by Dave)

Phase 1: do this work in new branch

Phase 1: determine utility of each test and what’s being tested

Phase 1: Perhaps split tests to more atomic versions

Phase 1: discard dups

Phase 1: rewrite per Dave’s simple sample

Phase 1: migrate to new directory structrure

Wolfgang: who does new directory structure? In new branch?

Romain: Skeleton could be created in new branch, or on-the-fly during migration. Skeleton wins.
... more specific questions on email

Romain can do intiial skeleton checkin/branch

Tzviya: github should be no problem (okay, not that), get comfortable before jumping in.

Perhaps folks who are uncomfortbale could send samples over email, others could commit.

<tzviya> good github resources: https://github.com/Roshanjossey/first-contributions/blob/master/README.md

Naomi pretty darn familiar.

<tzviya> https://abookapart.com/products/git-for-humans

<George> O'Reilly has several titles on github; I'll be working through one of them plus the tutorials.

Dave, Charles, Tzviya, comfortbale too.

(and Romain too, of course)

I’m muted — yes git, but less github.

Brady would love to do some work (or something like that).

Matt can almost certainly help.

Tobias: cross-post to epubcheck mailing list
... Marketing material for recruiting volenteers.

topic timeline for maint release

Progress being made, 9-ish pull requests await review.

9+ issues remain to be fixed.

(make that 15-ish)

Tobias and Romain should have some time to try to knock these off.

Thanks!

Tzviya will grovel for other folks to help out.

Goal: finish code in July, release in August.

<wolfgang_> * congrats, Romain!!!!

“epubcheck@googlegroups.com” I think

Need somebody to document non-package 3.0.1->3.1 issues

<Naomi> I'll take Navigation and Core Media Types as well

Brady/Tzviya can work on random task assignments (for 3.1 issues)

<Naomi> Structure Vocab is tiny as well, I might as well do that too

Call seems to be winding down early — woohoo.

Next meeting Thursday Aug 3rd @ 2:00p Eastern.

Conflict?

TBD

Bye all!

Tzviya, can you accumulate minutes? I don’t want to know how!

:-)
