Outstanding issues with DPUB-ARIA and DPUB-AAM

Tzviya: One issue opened recently on tracker: https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues/450
... James Teh suggested breaking doc-noteref into endnoteref and footnoteref

MattG: I don't think that we need to distingish because publishers use different symbols to refer to the endnotes and footnotes
... We may need to indicate to AT that the symbols (asterisks, etc) should be announced)

Janina: Usually the symbol is not announced

Tzviya: We agree that as long AT announces the symbols, there is no need to add role
... the use case is that a user is looking at the list of notes and needs to distinguish among the list of references to endnotes and references to footnotes
... Sighted users can distinguish only by differentiating the symbols

Michael: We do not need to make people more equal

Tzviya: consensus is that we will keep as is

Exit Criteria

Tzviya: Ivan proposed that for the Vocab, 2 publisher/authors are using each term in a production workflow
... OR epub:type (the predecessor to this vocabulary) might be sufficient
... I will confirm with Ivan and Ralph
... Shane offered to do formal documenting for the testing

Michael: What about DPUB-AAM?

Tzviya: MS needs to finish up a few roles

Michael: We are not dependant on DPUB-AAM for DPUB-ARIA
... because of different exit criteria

Tzviya: My understanding is that we are relying on Core testing for DPUB-AAM testing
... What do you need from DPUB people for AAM testing?

Michael: We don't necessarily need 2 full implementations, just sufficient implementations. Must determine what that means

Tzviya: Let's follow up with Rich to find out what the plan for testing DPUB-AAM is

http://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/aria/dpub.html

role="pullquote"

Matt: still an issue in the document about whether subclassing "none" is OK
... Wasn't this a question of whether or not the user wants to hear the pullquote even if the content is duplication?
... Perhaps a user wants to jump between the pullquotes. Using role="none" doesn't remove the content

Michael: to supress the content, would have to do aria role="hidden" in addition role ="none"

Matt: We should add hidden="true" to the example or make hidden="true" as implicit

Tzviya: Will that change any mappings?

Michael: Yes, and we will have to work with implementers to make sure they are on board

Tzviya: We should email the AAM authors explicitly to ask them to make the change

Michael: We need to document the Exit Requirements
... and we need a wide review

Tzviya: I can send this to the IDPF list
... We are working on Review ready version of DPUB-ARIA for CR no later than 10 NOv
... ideally by 8 Nov
