SVG 2.0

DS: I'm prepping SVG 2.0 for CR.

FE: Has the shadow tree/shadow DOM terminology issue been resolved?

DS: Don't know.

DS: Noting that we don't have quorum.
... So suggest we raise an issue about whether to include references to Shadow DOM - given that it is still a WD.

TF recruitment

FE: Have been trying to encourage people working on maps to join the TF.

DS: Suggest that until the TF is seen to be working on maps, there is little of interest to maps people here.

FE: If we can bring them to the table we'll be able to identify the problems they have.

LW: Can we ask the maps people for a problem statement, we could start looking at it as a technical problem.
... Then we would have something the maps people could review, and that might encourage them to join.

FE: But what is a problem statement for something like slippy maps?

LW: No idea. But that's what the maps people will be able to tell us about.
... We need to identify problems before we go looking for solutions.

FE: Do you use maps LĂ©onie?

LW: No, not really.

FE: There is an app that gives directions.

LW: Lots of apps that do that, but they're directions based rather maps based.

FE: Should there be a11y requirements for slippy maps? Those are things that let you pan etc. like a Google map.
... Might have points of interest on it.

LW: Probably for exploring a map for a maps sake.
... Like discovering where a country is in the world.

FE: Or discovering a map of the Grand Canyon.

LW: Yes.

FE: so can we start looking at these things?

LW: I don't think that's a clear enough problem statement. We need to talk to lots more people to find out what people typically want to do with maps first.

DS: Also what the map itself is trying to accomplish.

FE: It's hard to make an interactive decision tree accessible for ATs.

DS: Think this is too speculative at the moment.
... Suggest we focus on things like graphs first.

LW: +1

FE: Meeting adjourned for lack of quorum
