Finalizing the TF-DI tech landscape evaluation table

<Soumya> Tech Landscape Evaluation

Suomya went through the landscape evaluation page.

Suomya: could Louay update the WS-Discovery in the category 2: finding things on my network?

Louay: Yes.

<kaz> Category 3

<inserted> Category 4

<inserted> Category 5

Soumya: is anybody interested in category 3, 4 and 5.

[no]

Soumya: I will ask on the mailing list.

Discussing the deliverables

Suomya: one other deliverable is Discovery Solutions IoT Consortia.

<kaz> Discovery Solutions IoT Consortia

Suomya: do you see any other consortium we need to work together for deliverables?

Kaz: this table is a bit similiar with the one on github? Maybe it should be integrated into the landscape document?

<kaz> Tech Landscape document; Section 3: Thing Discovery

Soumya: Yes.

Suomya: we will have another subsection for discovery Solution.

Discussion/Break-out topics for next F2F in Montreal

Suomya: we would like to dive into the provisioning which we haven't covered much so far.

<kaz> Montreal f2f wiki

Suomya: welcome any other suggestions for the breakout session topics.

Kaz: should be the breakout session a joint one or just a DI breakout session?

Suomya: Yes.

Dave: provisioning is definitely an important part to discussion.
... trust is also important topic.

Suomya: Yes. I already discussed it with Oliver.

working group work item

Suomya: Discovery is dependant on scripting API and TD.
... We will not have a separate item as discovery.

<kaz> WoT WG items

Suomya: you can see the lifecycle methods bullet in the scope of scripting API. And the registering and creating things as well, which are related to discovery.
... in TD it's important to setup guidleines on how to discover and filter TD. Another one is to consider the lifecycle in TD.
... is there any thing missed or out of the scope for the items we listed here?

Kaz: discovery is important part of TD and scripting API.

Dave: Jeorg asked me to merge this to a draft charter of the upcoming WG. I will merge these into the draft charter.

Suomya: we can see we agree on the items.

Kaz: Dave, are you planning to put the information directly into the HTML format under the charter-drafts repo?

Dave: I plan to copy the proposed work items into the charter I started last year on GitHub in markdown2

Kaz: we should clarify the relationship between the TD/Resource and the Scripting API.
... we should clarify during the AP and TD calls further.

Louay: we need 2 functions, for configured and not configured devices.

Suomya: it should be handled by TD.
... you can send an email in the list to ask Sebastian whether it should be updated by TD.

Dave: discovery is related with query things and register things.

<dsr> For discovery, we need a registration API, either for a thing or to set up a proxy for a thing

Suomya: I discussed with Johannes. The querying is related with protocols. The registration should be quite simple and straightforward.
... we could discuss it in tomorrow's IG call and see where we should put it.

Kaz: We need to clarify the vocabulary for Things, Services, applications, etc. For example, Servient could be an entity which simply provides some service including all Things, Devices and Applications

<kaz> soumya: good topic for the IG call tomorrow

Dave: IAB Semantic interoperability whitepaper
... we now use an online MS document.

Suomya: mailing list should be fine.

Dave: oneM2M contributors to the whitepaper
... joint workshop is coming soon. We should make it.
... when it's ready, we will have the document reviewed more broadly.

Suomya: some news for the Montreal F2F meeting?

Kaz: I am working with Jeorg to finalize the open day talks.
... the plan is to have joint dinner on Monday evening after open day.
... we also have the W3C track at WWW2016. We have 2 sessions on WoT. Marie-Claire is working on puting the agenda there.

<Soumya> https://www.w3.org/2016/04/w3c-track.html

Kaz: is everybody encouraged to join the W3C track?

<kaz> Montreal f2f wiki

Dave: depends on the people since it's not free.
... Daniel is organizing the plugfest. if you have any suggestions, please speak out.

Suomya: anything else for today?

[no]

Suomya: our next meeting will focus on the provisioning.
... thank you for joining and for contributions to the landscape documents.
