<mdjp> has anyone managed to get into webex? I can't at the moment.
<rtoyg_m> We can't either. It says the code is invalid.
<BillHofmann> does someone need to have a "host code"?
<BillHofmann> web for webex shows no audio option, but Chris Lilley as host...
<mdjp> yes - I do but its not working, trying to get hold of Chris L as he set it up
<mdjp> chris is on his way - please hold......
<mdjp> if it were possible I'd play you some soothing music....
<BillHofmann> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuABhumm6fY
<rtoyg_m> Not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI__53kBBKM ?
<rtoyg_m> Or maybe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5PvBzDlZGs
<BillHofmann> call is up
<hongchan> we're in (Google)
<rtoyg_m> Better?
<hongchan> (we just muted our mic.)
<BillHofmann> (SCRIBE for today? Can't do it...)
<scribe> scribenick: ChrisL
matt: we can't go to CR without
audio worker, just not possible
... response from ian Kilpatrick about recent updates but
dependency on worklet and web modules
... Joe has invited ian to attend our call in 2 weeks time, to
understand the dependencies
<rtoyg_m> Can you hear us?
BillHofmann: agree, and we need to help that work ourselves
<hongchan> Ian is here with us today.
<hongchan> Seems like our mic is not working.
<iank> hi!
<hongchan> We're gonna drop to call and reconnect.
<rtoyg_m> Off call now, so we can't hear you.
<rtoyg_m> Back on call.
matt: Paul is not with us this week (skiing!) so we hope to discuss this in two weeks. Can you join?
iank: yes, can do
matt: could you give us a brief description of the dependency?
iank: it is on modules loading,
which allows you to load code a different way, not in an
execution context. you are isolated from main page scripts and
has ES6 featureslike import of dependency scripts, too
... can find what the timelines are for the latter part. if it
is too long we can hack around
matt: ok so not as serious a delay as we thought
iank: implementing a main thread version of worklets, atthe moment. Not that much work to do it in the module way, going forward
matt: do we have a rought timeline
iank: FPWD on worklets was
decided at Houdini last week. No concerns from browser
vendors.
... so wider review from other groups is welcome
matt: look forward to email
discussion prior to the phone call in two weeks
... any other questions?
(none)
matt: so, how can we help?
iank: everything is on github so file issues
iank do you have a quick link for the minutes
<iank> https://drafts.css-houdini.org/worklets/
matt: so in this charter period, we expect to be in CR. Recharter to kick off v.2
rtoyg: That sounds good
<Bill_m> Hmm. I didn't say anything.
ChrisL: (explains CR process and testing)
BillHofmann: what other large
work items are there, besides audio worker and tests. We should
discuss next call
... There is a big review item on must/should/may and
RFC2119
... and we don't want to start that until we are done, so that
we don't redo it
matt: we need to be in CR well before September
<mdjp> https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+no%3Amilestone
matt: property bag issues raised
by ray. only comment on channel count so far
... so you are looking for review and sanity check?
rtoyg: yes. Mostly they are pretty obvious. Nodes don't have consistent attributes
matt: propert bag for script processor is easy, as we deprecated it
rtoyg: same for panner node
... nice to have constructors for them, even if deprecated
matt: do these now or offline?
rtoyg: not high priority, offline is fine as long as it gets done
<mdjp> https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/717
matt: that one is easy, ready for
editing
... ok ready for editing and v.1
<mdjp> https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/713
<hongchan> (that was rtoy)
<rtoyg_m> That was matt, not hongchan
matt: so this is to construct a ramp that already started?
<MPozdnyakov> Hi, unfortunately I'm not able to join the call atm. However is it possible to discuss also https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/12 among other issues?
matt: can't resolve without Paul
and ChrisW. Needs WG review
... other issues for today's call?
<rtoyg_m> ChrisL: Example is setValueAtTime(1, 0), wait 1 sec, then linearRampToValue(10, 0.5). The linearRamp is in the past, What is the value at currentTime (1 sec)? 1? 10?
matt: issue 12 clearly needs
working group review. As Bill mentioned this is in the
contentious category
... this has come up repeatedly and has a lot of detail in the
issue. Needs f2f time
<hongchan> https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/692
(692 is closed)
<rtoyg_m> https://github.com/WebAudio/web-audio-api/issues/348#issuecomment-175384138
(people read the issue and ponder)
rtoy: there was a question on why not make it a number. and how to make it work reliably. a fine-grained way.
<hongchan> (it was rtoy)
matt: re-open the issue,
then?
... put back into WG Review state
... end of agenda for today. f2f date is confirmed.
... next call in two weeks, 25 Feb
... topic will be audio worker, also closing off property bag
issues
(adjourned)
