<janina> Sorry, everyone. Bad connection to my ISP

<Lisa_Seeman> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/cognitive-a11y-tf/track/actions/open

<Lisa_Seeman> ACTION: lisa to ping people not on the call about thier action items [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/07/06-coga-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-121 - Ping people not on the call about thier action items [on Lisa Seeman - due 2015-07-13].

LS: we need to finish reviewing the issue papers by 31st July, as the WCAG extension is dependent on it

JR: the issue paper for mofdality was finished at May

<JohnRochford> Multi-Modal Issue Paper on GitHub = https://github.com/w3c/coga/blob/master/issue-papers/multi-modal.html

<janina> We were going to try to get the person who posted the issue paper on a call for further discussion.

<janina> My review was that there were no use cases

<janina> In other words, nothing particular to web of things

<janina> All issues listed are true in general, and not specific to wot

<janina> Was that Gottfried Zimmerman?

<janina> OK. But Gottfried's ISO specs are NOT wot

<janina> web of things

<janina> Same concern

LS: Rich asked Gottfried. things like simplification aren't being included. that's a gap that needs to be brought in

<janina> Gottfried's working on Universal Remote; ISO 24752

<janina> myurc.org

LS: wot has been merged partially with internet of thinga

<janina> And the issues presented are spot on, just not particular to internet/web of things

<JohnRochford> Janina, are you sure that is the correct site?

<janina> Wroking off the top of my head, it's something similar ...

LS: the techniques of the dyscalculia haven't been reviewed
... requested John adds it to the github and LS to the gap analysis

<Lisa_Seeman> action John Rochford to add dysculcula techneques to github, Lisa to add them to gap annalis

<trackbot> 'John' is an ambiguous username. Please try a different identifier, such as family name or username (e.g., jfoliot, JohnRochford).

<Lisa_Seeman> action JohnRochford to add dysculcula techneques to github, Lisa to add them to gap annalis

<trackbot> Created ACTION-122 - Add dysculcula techneques to github, lisa to add them to gap annalis [on John Rochford - due 2015-07-13].

<Lisa_Seeman> next item

<Lisa_Seeman> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/cognitive-a11y-tf/wiki/Providing_graded_help#Settings

LS: added potential types of symbols and language support to the graded help

<janina> Looks like myurc.org has been abandoned by the ISO work and taken over by a Japanese business concern

<janina> It's still listed by Trace: http://trace.wisc.edu/resources/#start

having brain storming session on types of symbols and language support

JR: suggests changing "symbol" to "drawing"

MP: symbolic or realistic images for support

LS: EA wanted to change "present voice" to
... "active tense". am debating if to add "when possible", as there are cases in which it doesn't work.

https://w3c.github.io/coga/techniques/#use-active-rather-than-passive-voice.x

thanks Janina

JR: what does the "frequency" mean?

LS: frequency of images - different people want images in different frequencies, i. e. one per paragraph, per sentence, etc.
... E. A. asked about "number free" - what does it mean
... suggests changing it ti "avoid or explain using numerals, text to numerals and numerical concepts"

*changing it to

LS: pronoun free - impossible in English (E.A.) should be removed as what is intended is active voice
... E.A. asked about icons

JR: is it different beyond the size?

conclusion: more like a symbol

LS: E.A. frequencies depend on context.
... these are preferences, so it should be fine

John: suggests to standardize a set of symbols

LS: the approach taken is to let the user set the symbols the user prefers

<Lisa_Seeman> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/cognitive-a11y-tf/wiki/Easy_Personalization

<Ryladog> Sorry, I have to drop

LS: would be good if someone would make a set of symbols and upload them online
... and then Chaohai and Ayelet could link to them

<Lisa_Seeman> iso symbols

https://w3c.github.io/coga/issue-papers/links-buttons.html

John - is that what you're looking for?

<Lisa_Seeman> action JohnRochford to make sample symbol set and text tool tips for link types and buttons types from https://w3c.github.io/coga/issue-papers/links-buttons.html

<trackbot> Created ACTION-123 - Make sample symbol set and text tool tips for link types and buttons types from https://w3c.github.io/coga/issue-papers/links-buttons.html [on John Rochford - due 2015-07-13].

Lisa - could you generate the minutes?
