<ndw> Meeting: XML Processing Model WG
<ndw> Meeting: 250

-> http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/2014/09/03-agenda
Accepted.
-> http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/2014/08/27-minutes
Accepted.
No regrets heard.
Alex gives possible regrets.
Norm: I propose to make that the new status quo draft for 2.0. Any objections?
Alex: We replaced a lot of instances of 1.0 with 2.0 and I wonder if we should try to be more clever about insulating ourselves from future changes.
Norm: I agree, but we can do that in the future.
We have that as a requirement:
-> https://github.com/xproc/specification/issues/30
Alex: We're pretty close, but it
seems like we could be more clever.
... We should give implementors the option of doing an XPath
3.1 processor in the future.
Norm: That's why I didn't remove
xpath-version...
... We can just say "XPath 2.0 or some future version" if we're
clever.
Alex: I think we need to just be a little more careful in the XPath context sections.
Norm: So, any objections to the proposal in pull request 71?
None heard. Accepted.
Norm: On another day, I might have just called this editorial.
Alex: Are we using DeltaXML? What about higher granularity of changes?
Norm: DeltaXML won't do that, the
XPath spec does it by having the author do the change
markup.
... I thought I could get DeltaXML to pull requests, but I
couldn't.
... I'll consider doing the diff markup by hand.
... I'll do it "by hand" for the next round of changes and
we'll see how that goes.
... Anyway, an objection to the proposal in pull request
73?
None heard, accepted.
Alex: From a scheduling
standpoint, we're all going in different directions.
... I'm just about caught up.
Norm: I'm hoping discrete requirements will help.
Alex: Maybe we could get some idea of peoples availability for spec work.
<MoZ> what about TPAC ?
Norm: Realistically, I think we'll be spun back up by early October.
Alex: Maybe we should make that explicit.
Loren: How many folks are going to TPAC?
Norm: I'll be there, Alex it's easy for you.
Mohamed: I'm trying to get there.
Loren: I'll be there.
... I think XProc is Thursday/Friday.
Alex: I can't make Thursdays.
Norm: Ok, I'll see about moving XProc to Monday/Tuesday.
Alex: I can be there on Monday for sure.
Norm: Alex, you were going to work on parameters and zip/unzip.
Alex: Yes, I got some work done
on zip/unzip. I just need to integrate some feedback.
... There's a question about process.
Norm: On the process question for
zip/unzip, I suggest you follow the model of the p:template
step.
... On the authoring question, let's chat.
Alex: And the instructions for this are...
Norm: I have an action to update the README.
Alex: I'll start with
zip/unzip.
... We could make having zip/unzip ready for review at TPAC a
goal.
