<ericP> interesting

zakimm, ??P0 is michel

michel hasn't been able to discuss the lodd datasets with anja

will have to use current datasets for the paper

patient data

michel: extensive discussion on hcls mailing list about how to represent measurements

ericP: comes down to minimal representation that specifies units in the predicate or more explicit representation where one can construct the necessary information

joanne: what is the use case

ericP: if we standardize a shoe ontology - the units for shoe size are "cm", then should the relation indicate that this is the unit, or do you let people potentially specify any unit
... and use OWL reasoner to check consistency
... information might not be appropriate constrained to the expected unit
... heterogeneous representations e.g. dublic core author can accept uri, string, etc
... causes problems for data consistency and querying
... might be too complicated

joanne: who are the users? would they be confused? would user interfaces possibly constrain it

ericP: post-uptake should not be a problem
... once there is a standard, and it's well documented ...
... cost is on pre-uptake - can learn by example

<matthias_samwald> (i need to leave the call now - bye!)

michel: communities are creating ontologies of types, so leave the predicates more general, and refer to the types

ericP: question of pre-reasoning and post-reasoning
... can people specify and find the data without reasoning, because post-reasoning everything equals out

kerstin: next the contextual data associated with the measurement values

ericP: look by example - i can stick more data in the semweb graph
