 Flyer, logo

Ian Jacobs going to be working on networking across W3C, and his messaging might impact what is on the flyer

He generally likes the flyer, but the life of it might be shorter than expected, because his future messaging work might impact it.

So the flyer can be published soon.

<ivan> Hofstadter's law

the law says anything takes longer than expected :)

<scribe> completed review expected next week

Logo: mistake was made in color, not the right blue, corrected logos expected this week

Ideally logo and flyer should be synchronized - the flyer should include the correct logo

Use cases

Progress with use cases: got use case from Cleveland Clinic, being reviewed

Eli Lilly - waiting for lawyers to approve

Pfizer - have sent a draft

BBC, Nielsen biometrics being pursued

Information gathering

<leobard> ACTION: Leo sends email to susie and SWEO members about playing with it [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/10/03-sweo-minutes.html#action01]

<uldis> Melli: make it Nielsen Buzzmetrics

thanks!

a list of all resources like tutorials and so on - would be useful to have in one place

<leobard> this is here: http://esw.w3.org/topic/SweoIG/TaskForces/InfoGathering/RecommendedTutorials

<danja> btw, this just appeared: http://www.semanticfocus.com/blog/entry/title/30-semantic-web-introductions-references-guides-and-tutorials/

<leobard> another list: http://esw.w3.org/topic/SweoIG/TaskForces/InfoGathering/DataSources

<leobard> openlinksw put up this list of our uploaded uris: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/sweo/public/Info/summary.vsp

<danja> Ivan mentioned the "meta" word in the email

maybe there is no need for a new page, given the above links

<leobard> Ivan says the current state is "intermediate"

Ivan: something that a beginner can use, which links to the other pages - so better organization

Kingsley: make this a use case - "how do we make this vast amount of SW information available to a new user in a coherent form?"

<leobard> university cut me out. dialling in again....

<leobard> we had the idea of visualizing an integrated portal before: http://esw.w3.org/topic/SweoIG/TaskForces/InfoGathering/PortalPlans

<danja> for now I'm happy to knock together a better-looking (RDFa ok) HTML rendition of the tutorial list(s)

<danja> leobard, kidehen, is there a (uri for) summary of the current status of infogathering?

<leobard> @danja: ok, I wonder what to do with the rdfa & list in the next steps. it should stay dynamic, and be updated from time to time.

<kidehen> leobard: I am leaving you to explain this matter re. source formats and the info gathering store

<leobard> you upload here: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/sweo/public/Info/

<leobard> it ends up listed here: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/sweo/public/Info/summary.vsp

<kidehen> leobard: the point being that we started with the requirement to add non RDF sources such as Ivan's RSS feeds etc..

<danja> thanks!

<uldis> people (newcomers) should be able to contribute to the resources list w/o expressing info in RDF

<leobard> and an rdf dump (it will be rdf soon): http://sweo.openlinksw.com:8892/queries/sweo-data-dump.isparql

discussion on the organization of the links moved to mailing list, and Danny and Ivan will look at what to do next

<kidehen> uldis: yes, and that's what the service delivers

<kidehen> uldis: this feature is what lead to a lot of delay in the project

<kidehen> uldis: now you can drop XHTML, HTML, and a myriad of other formats and still have RDF

<uldis> kidehen: good.

<kidehen> uldis: this unfortunately is now a point of confusion :-(

<kidehen> uldis: whereas it was a point of confusion when we started off expecting RDF :-(

<kidehen> uldis: so not having it was a problem and having it is now a problem :-(

<uldis> it'd be great to see more info on mailing list perhaps, as i (and others too) was not getting a complete picture of what's the argument about

<leobard> @kidehen: we still need the rdf dump

URI document -

meet ing in Amsterdam next week and we will get a document with changes

<kidehen> leobard: fine, so add to the todo or remind Tim

<leobard> @kidehen: the full repository needs to be available as http uri and rdf/xml, not html like here: http://sweo.openlinksw.com:8892/queries/sweo-data-dump.isparql

<leobard> @kidehen: yep, good idea

<uldis> kidehen: maybe just a good description of what's the issue is needed

Community project

Kingsley: opencyc mapping to dbpedia is going to happen very shortly. We are going to have "owl:sameAs" links in DBpedia with OpenCyc linked data URIs in the range of this predicate. They will reciprocate in their RDF Data Store also i.e. DBpedia URIs will be in Range in their statements/claims. The goal is expose the reciprocity in a manner that is discernable by machines trying to compute trust metrics without depending on OWL inferencing (since the owl:sameAs predicate is symmetrical as per OWL).

(IH: added to minutes per http://www.w3.org/mid/4704D543.50207@openlinksw.com)

that was the update on the linking data project

<kidehen> uldis: I've tried, but it

<kidehen> uldis: so I leave this to Uldis

<kidehen> uldis: I mean leo :-)

<uldis> kidehen: ah. that was a surprise. i need to understand it first. :)

<danja> oops

<danja> someone please tell Susie "sorry"!

<kidehen> uldis: we have a Web Page that allows you add Info Gathering data in a myriad of RDF and non RDF formats

<kidehen> uldis: that's it

<danja> leave action as continuing, I'll report into the the mailing list

F2F:

most people are happy with the agenda

<kidehen> uldis: all the data is accessible via /sparql endpoint

<kidehen> uldis: also a URI for the

<kidehen> uldis: sweo user account

expecting a good participation in person in Boston, and a group from Germany will be dialing in

<kidehen> uldis: so the 'sweo' account has a dereferencable URI that links to all the data

<leobard> danja: you are not in phone, but we repeatedly talk about you,

<leobard> danja: you have anything you want to say?

<danja> nah, will mail list

<leobard> shoots, too late, we are at the end already :-)

<danja> (nothing to report really)

<danja> did a little python hacking, got stuck because ivan hasn't implemented CONSTRUCT yet...

<leobard> danja: we could chat a little about the tutorials on #swig

<danja> ok
