Some people use the word \"diagram\" to refer only to charts, schematics and
other drawn illustrations, excluding such graphics as photographs.

If this criterion is not meant to be so restricted, it would be better to use
\"graphics\". If a restriction is meant, \"diagram\" should be defined in the
glossary.

Proposed Change:

\"text or graphics\", or add a definition of \"diagram\" (see above).; Related issues: (space separated ids); WG Notes: [TEAMA] The word \"diagram\" is written as intended. The SC is about contrast and it would not be important to have the contrast high in a photo of a man standing in front of a mountain. We intended to exclude photos and other types of graphics, (unless they contain a diagram such as a schematic, or drawn illustration.) A diagram conveys a concept much like text does. A graphic of text is covered in 1.1. Discussed 08 June 2006: ACTION: David to add comment to response - we are not adding definitions of terms when we are using them as they are commonly defined. Text or images of text may have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 where all of the following are true: * Text is at least twice the height of the body text; and * the text has a stem width of at least three times the stem width of the body text; and * the text is presented over a non-patterned background. Note: This requirement does not apply to text or images of text that are pure decoration."; (Please make sure the resolution is adapted for public consumption)
