Item Number: Important New Terms Used in WCAG 2.0
Part of Item:
Comment Type: TE
Comment (Including rationale for any proposed change):

The number of guidelines that use the term "programmatically determined" concerns me. At best the glossary definition of "programmatically determined"Â? is perfunctory and the term looks to me like an example of "weasel words". A simple change to the meaning of "programmatically determined" could have a profound impact on the meaning of some important guidelines. How and who will be responsible for redefining words?

Proposed Change:

Avoid wherever possible the use of specialist terms that have the potential to qualify or distort the meaning of guidelines.

Provide a clear, unambiguous and understandable definition for all specialist terms.
