Participating to a call

On the phone

Call W3C Zakim teleconference system: +1.617.761.6200, then enter the teleconference code 2794 (standing for BPWG) followed by the # key.

To get muted, type 61# (6 stands for "M" as in Mute on the phone keypad, and 1 means On); get unmuted with 60#.

To get added to the queue of speakers, type 41# (4 stands for "H" as hand up); remove yourself from the you with 40#.

On IRC

To get your IRC nickname associated with your phone nickname, type /me Zakim, I am phone_nick.

To get muted, type: /me Zakim, mute me. Get unmuted with /me Zakim, unmute me.

To get in the queue, type /me q+ (or q+ to say ... if you want Zakim to remind what you wanted to say when it's your turn to speak).

Scribing on IRC

General discussions should be minuted as: SpeakerName: blablabla.

Action Items are to be recorded as ACTION: SpeakerGivenName to do stuff - due Date (more details about tracker IRC interface).

Resolutions should be recorded as RESOLUTION: what was decided.

Setting up the IRC Channel for scribing

Usually done by Dom, but in case he's away:

At the start of the call:

      /invite trackbot
      trackbot, start meeting
      Chair: Dan
      ScribeOptions: -member
      Scribe: your_nick
      Agenda: url_of_the_agenda
    

At the end of the call:

    Zakim, bye

... after Zakim listed the attendees:

      RRSagent, draft minutes
      RRSagent, bye
