Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) Version 1.0 Errata

Abstract

This document records all known errors in the Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) Version 1.0 specification; for updates see the latest version of that document.

The errata are numbered, classified as Substantive or Editorial, and listed in reverse chronological order of their date of publication in each category. Each entry contains the following information:

The section in which the error exists.
A description of the error.
A correction to the error, if applicable.

Changes to the text of the specification are indicated thus: new, added text, modified text, and deleted text. Substantive corrections are proposed by the Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) Working Group (part of the Internationalization Activity), which has consensus that they are appropriate; they are not to be considered normative until approved by a Call for Review of Proposed Corrections or a Call for Review of an Edited Recommendation.

2 Editorial Errata

E01 (2007-06-27): Section 6.5.1 contains a spelling error: the third bullet point should read as Data category value: "rlo" (left-to-right override). That is, "rlo" should be "lro".

E02 (2007-06-27): Add the declaration of xml:lang to the non-normative ITS schemas described in App. D, following a comment at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-i18n-its/2007AprJun/0057.html .

E03 (2007-07-26): Replace the RELAX NG schema for ITS attributes with an updated version, following the comment at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2007JulSep/0016.html.

E04 (2007-09-16): various editorial changes proposed in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2007JulSep/0100.html:

In the text of example 7 change "The declarations for the translate attribute is added" to "The declarations for the translate attribute are added".
In section 2.1.1 change "can then screen the relevant content " to "can then exclude the relevant content ".
In the code of example 9 change "<its:translateRule selector="//n:term" translate="no"/>" to "<its:translateRule selector="//term" translate="no"/>".
In section 4.2, point 2-2, change "on a rules elements." to "on a rules element.".
In section 6.1, bullet 1, change "if both local or global selection are absent" to "if both local and global selection are absent".
In section 6.2.2 change "The default is that elements are translatable and attributes are not." to "The default is that the content of elements is translatable and the values of attributes are not translatable.".
In section 6.3.1 change "an instruction to the translator to leave parts" to "an instruction to translators to leave parts". Change "information that the translator will refer" to "information that translators will refer".
In section 6.4.1 change the reference from ISO-12200 (obsolete) to ISO-16642.
