Agenda Review & Announcements

Janina: new standing item - up front advisory on horizontal review of charters
... no additions to agenda from the audience. No announcements from members

CAPTCHA Update https://w3c.github.io/apa/captcha/

Janina: CAPTCHA - we were just about to publish but W3C / WHAT announcement trumped our announcement and there were more edits to make
... new timeline: editor’s draft being updated, revised section on i18n added and comments made and added, notfied of new technology being used - new section 2.2
... COGA wants more additions; editors draft open until Midnight Sunday Boston time
... likely CFC due by Wednesday Boston time; publish on July 4
... will try to create a diff in the CFC

TPAC 2019 https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2019

Janina: looking for head count for TPAC
... registration prices go up after June 21; will go up again in Sept
... working letter of support for Becky, will write ones for others if needed
... please add any issues that we want to discuss with other groups

Task Force Updates

Janina: nothing more from personalization or RQTF - they are active groups

irfan: Pronounciation TF - working on 3 documents, creating use cases, would appreciate reviews and feedback from members of this group

new on TR http://www.w3.org/TR/tr-status-drafts.html

Michael: Web of things architecture pending review request

Janina: has gone to CR but will review

<MichaelC> Web Authentication:

<MichaelC> An API for accessing Public Key Credentials

<MichaelC> Level 2

Janina: I should read this; Jason has reviewed in past so should ask him to review
... John Rochford is also in group; we should ask him to review issues with authentication as well (in addition to his role as COGA representative)

<MichaelC> ACTION: Janina to review Web Authentication: An API for accessing Public Key Credentials Level 2

<trackbot> Created ACTION-2195 - Review web authentication: an api for accessing public key credentials level 2 [on Janina Sajka - due 2019-06-12].

<MichaelC> ACTION: jason to review Web Authentication: An API for accessing Public Key Credentials Level 2

<trackbot> Created ACTION-2196 - Review web authentication: an api for accessing public key credentials level 2 [on Jason White - due 2019-06-12].

<MichaelC> ACTION: rochford to review Web Authentication: An API for accessing Public Key Credentials Level 2

<trackbot> Error finding 'rochford'. You can review and register nicknames at <https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/track/users>.

<MichaelC> action-2195: https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Web_Authentication:_An_API_for_accessing_Public_Key_Credentials_Level_2

<trackbot> Notes added to action-2195 Review web authentication: an api for accessing public key credentials level 2.

<MichaelC> action-2196: https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Web_Authentication:_An_API_for_accessing_Public_Key_Credentials_Level_2

<trackbot> Notes added to action-2196 Review web authentication: an api for accessing public key credentials level 2.

Janina: need to ask John R to participate in APA to best represent a11y in other groups

Michael: input events level 1 and level 2 have been republished; we had a discussion 2 years ago

Janina: believe there was an action on Joanie

Joanie: believe this was about text attributes

Janina: close these out, there is a standing request to document how text attributes are exposed - believe this was to Web Platform

Joanie: this was more related to contenteditable and really wasn’t related to input events
... believe the issue was really about the attributes on content editable

<MichaelC> Push API

Michael: push api - we reviewed / initiated review in 2015, requested a11y section in 2017 but request was rejected; decided to raise issue again when went to CR
... it hasn’t gone to CR but has been republished and will request Leonie to review (as she had volunteered in 2017)
... file api; deferred review in 2018; should we review?

Janina: defer to August 2019 so we can discuss again before TPAC

Actions Checkin (Specs) https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/track/products/8

Janina: believe there was an action assigned related to time/text; Media related group wants to expand use cases in document
... believe group wants to expand the list of time text formats supported

JF: can’t find an APA action related to this; TTML was designed so can add new profiles; another video and engineering group created a super set and added additional meta data/attributes

<MichaelC> action-2194?

<trackbot> action-2194 -- Janina Sajka to Run the jf and janina show on review of media timed events https://www.w3.org/tr/media-timed-events/ -- due 2019-05-29 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/track/actions/2194

<MichaelC> Media Timed Events

Horizontal reviews https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22Horizontal+review+requested%22

Janina: we have requested review on proposed new charters in order to get Accessibility at the begining
... there are a few specs in the pipeline we need to review quickly

Michael: the uri above lists workshop propsals (we don’t need a formal engagement) and charters
... if there appears to be accessibility implications we will request an apa liason from the (new) group
... proposed charter from privacy interest group - we are reviewing their note
... decentralized identifiers and time text are also new charters - do we need to be involved>
... time text has a liason and long standing relationship with APA

<MichaelC> Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) v0.13

Michael: not sure we need to worry about decentralized identifiers
... believe it relates to authentication; don’t think they need to do anything specific for accessibility

JF: looking at code sample it looks like special type of JSON data model
... a mechanism that allows you to provide proof of you are in a certification “circle” - perhaps a self signed cert
... seems to be payment related

Michael: I am hearing that we have use cases but not necessarily a need to be involved from the charter level
... other charter is privacy interest group

Janina: strong concern here - worries about finger printing;

Michael: APA will seek horizontal review of deliverable statement and liason to APA is requested

Janina: I don’t think we should skip workshops; use case with machine learning - want someone to be involved to include edge cases

<MichaelC> Draft Machine Learning workshop description

Janina: edge cases weren’t included and this affects personalization

Michael: the proposal does include accessibility - we will have an opportunity to submit a paper

Janina: good to have notice of workshops so we can find someone to cover the topic

Michael: workshop on data models for transportation

Janina: we had an interest there

<MichaelC> W3C Workshop on Data Models for Transportation

Michael: accessibility is in the scope

Janina: perhaps we will ask Jutta T to cover since she has a use case
... will make this a standing item to review workshops and charters

Other Business

Janina: no other business - adjourn
