Steven: Reminder, next week the call will be one hour earlier in Europe
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2017Oct/0013
Steven: This comes from a fight
I've been having this week with a website that is serving some
XML documents as text/html
... What do we think is the best way of giving the user more
control?
Erik: We had a similar thing with
another pipeline language
... in that case we had a way of forcing the mediatype
... otherwise content sniffing...
... there are some different scenarios
... sometimes you don't know what is coming
... often you do know
... and this cases it can make sense to require it to be
processed as a certain type.
... that is option 2 in your email
Steven: I think too that that is the better, cleaner option
Erik: Then we need to decided on a name for the attribute
Steven: Is there precedent in any
XML related markup for the name of such an attribute?
... If XSLT has similar, it would be good to use that before
inventing something ourselves
Erik: Good point [looks at XSLT]
<scribe> ACTION: Steven to research if anything else has such an attribute and to suggest a name [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2017/10/25-forms-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-2142 - Research if anything else has such an attribute and to suggest a name [on Steven Pemberton - due 2017-11-01].
Alain: I agree that method 2 is the better choice.
<ebruchez> https://doc.orbeon.com/xml-platform/processors/url-generator.html#xml-mode
Erik: We had a 'mode' for
something that was reading, and had an XML, HTML, JSON mode
etc. to force the mode.
... but XForms alsready has @mode...
Steven: I'll research
ACTION-2140 - Check google library for support of extension numbers in
telephone numbers
https://www.w3.org/2017/09/20-forms-minutes.html#action01
Erik: In process
ACTION-2140 - Check google library for support of extension numbers in
telephone numbers
https://www.w3.org/2017/09/20-forms-minutes.html#action01
Erik: Pending
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2017Oct/0001
Steven: Quite a big change, but you think it's worth doing?
Erik: Nothing against it...
... in our form builder, we have the ability to specifiy
multiple validation alerts for a control
... for each you can specify custom alert messages
... we put the constraints in the model
... with different elements
... with ids.
... So these things are linked with IDs
... If we adopted this proposal we wouldn't have to explicitely
do the linking
Alain: I prefer things in the model, so it sounds better this way
Steven: Shall I spec it up?
Erik: In the view we have the
ability to put the UI content as well.
... I don't want to remove labels from the view
Steven: Agree, I think I included an example of overriding the label in the view
<ebruchez> https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2017Oct/0014.html
Erik: My question is only if we
are happy with including host langauge elements in the model as
well. I don;t think we did that before.
... I don't see a problem, but it is something to think
about.
Steven: OK with me trying to spec it up.
Erik: Fine
<scribe> ACTION: Steven to spec up adding Help Hint Alert and Label to the model [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2017/10/25-forms-minutes.html#action02]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-2143 - Spec up adding help hint alert and label to the model [on Steven Pemberton - due 2017-11-01].
