new on TR http://www.w3.org/TR/tr-status-drafts.html#tr_LCWD

<MichaelC> HTML 5

Michael: Review period until Jul 15
... A couple of new working drafts, neither first public nor LC
... With UI Events, we noted it at FP.
... Shadow DOM might be of interest for our canvas work.

Rich: Canvas is in SVG2 as well.
... Also iframes
... SVG2 is mind-melding with HTML5
... Events are harmonized, ARIA, fonts, etc.

Michael: Shadow DOM lacks a useful abstract and useful introduction.

Janina: We could request that.

Michael: Same for UI Events.

RESOLUTION: PF requests that Web Apps provide abstract and introductory sections for the working drafts on Shadow DOM and UI Events (as discussed in the Cambridge meeting on June 9, 2014).

<MichaelC> ACTION: cooper to send note to webapps request useful abstract and introduction for their specs, starting with Shadow DOM and UI Events [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/18-pf-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1458 - Send note to webapps request useful abstract and introduction for their specs, starting with shadow dom and ui events [on Michael Cooper - due 2014-06-25].

<MichaelC> action-1458: following PF resolution 18 June 2014

<trackbot> Notes added to action-1458 Send note to webapps request useful abstract and introduction for their specs, starting with shadow dom and ui events.

Community Groups Checkin http://www.w3.org/community/groups/

<MichaelC> Human Services CG

Michael: Don't know how this is related to W3C work

Janina: What about Jason White?
... I might bring it up with him.
... Let's put it on our "revisit" list, and i will act upon it.

ARIA.Next Items

Michael: ARIA 1.1 is published
... as draft
... Also FPWG on Core Accessibility API mappings
... All references are core-aam

Janina: I think we decided that we want to spell core-aam out in our publications.
... Use this for verbal?

Michael: I don't want to object. But core-aam is not the official acronym outside of this group.

James: core-aam sounds like "arm"
... (British accent)

Rich: Added ARIA semantics on 1.1 for social collaborative editing on Websites - based on a Microsoft proposal.
... Agreement on HTML5 approach.

Janina: Steve is supposed to file some bugs - but don't know the status. Also concerned about whether we can resolve those bugs.
... If Steve gets the bugs solved, we might get a way to get it through.

Rich: They could just remove those 5 elements. Not needed to mark the whole section "at risk".

Janina: Brian also found some simple errors.
... Might be useful to file bugs on those.

Rich: Steve says that he had filed those.

Michael: I will find ways to incorporate the IndieUI abstract - needs to be short.
... I am not editing the introduction now. But we should address introduction in the next round of the IndieUI spec.

Janina: Forthcoming IndieUI FPWD for user context.
... Should be published next week.

Other Task Force Updates

Janina: HTML5 task force activitites, in particular in the media group. Discussions on what to take up in HTML.next.
... Coga is also active. Talking with Lisa - gap analysis.

user interface security directives

Janina: Comments are due today (see pointers in this agenda) to emails from Cynthia and James.
... and from Lisa

Michael: We already discussed James' point on "normative" marking.

Janina: Anybody disagreeing? - No.

Michael: Cynthia's message: Some questions are risen, regarding use with screen readers, magnifiers, mouse simulation, platform a11y API handling...

Janina: We could ask for clarification on these questions.

Michael: Yes, the questions are relevant.

Janina: Any disagreements? - No.

Michael: Lisa's comments: Change to MUST... Also: ... must be operable by AT.

Janina: Any objections? - No.

Michael: Add text on CAPTCHA, cognitive disabilities, ...

Janina: If we agree, we should reference our CAPTCHA note.

Michael: I would like to make minor edits here.

Janina: Any objections - excempt for minor edits? - No.

<MichaelC> ACTION: cooper to send PF comments on User Interface Security Directives [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/18-pf-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1459 - Send pf comments on user interface security directives [on Michael Cooper - due 2014-06-25].

<trackbot> Notes added to action-1459 Send pf comments on user interface security directives.

RESOLUTION: PF adopts the comments of Lisa, Cynthia and James as PF comments.

<JF> +1 to that

Janina: It is always helpful to have comments drafted that don't need much editing.

CSS Counters Response http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-pfwg/2014Jan/0015.html

CSS Borders & Backgrounds http://www.w3.org/2014/02/19-pf-minutes.html#action03

Janina: Cynthia is not here, so take it to the next meeting.

CSS Overview Redux

Janina: Our evaluation of CSS - we did quite a lot. We had a meeting with CSS at TPAC in 2011, and we have a wiki.
... Wiki: http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/wiki/CSS/Spec_Review

Telecon 19 Oct: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/wai-xtech/2011Oct/0027.html

Telecon 26 Oct: https://www.w3.org/2011/10/26-pf-minutes.html#item02

TPAC 2011: https://www.w3.org/2011/11/01-pf-minutes.html

Janina: Unfortunately, the minutes are not quite detailed. I imagine some aspects of the actions are still relevant.
... There was also some discussion on the list that went to the CSS wg. But didn't look into 2012.
... Can we talk about it now, and then come back to it next week or later?
... Those who were participants at the TPAC 2011 should look if there are any actions on them.

James: Should we bring this to the table of TPAC this year?

Janina: Yes. We should have a "CSS person" in our group taking care of this topic regularly.
... It is too little to react on publications of CSS.

Rich: CSS has got so important - browsers using their new features - we definitely should have somebody in there.

John: I wonder if we could reach out to the W3C a11y community with this.
... Could be even a small task force.

Janina: Good suggestion.

JF: PF is probably too big for this.

John: Contact Daniel Glazman?

Rich: We might have somebody at IBM for this - a UI designer.

Mary Jo: I can talk to him.

Janina: Request over xtech or wai-ig?

<JF> Perhaps contact Daniel Glazman (@glazou) to see if there might be somebody over in the CSS WG interested in partnering with us

Janina: Yes, please contact Daniel Glazman, John.

John: Will do so.

<JF> ACTION: Foliot to contact @glazou about CSS A11y TF (sic) [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/18-pf-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1460 - Contact @glazou about css a11y tf (sic) [on John Foliot - due 2014-06-25].

Janina: I will be in Berlin next week - not sure I will make it. Michael, could you chair?

Michael: Yes, I am making a note.
