<klotz> ACTION: Nick van den Bleeken to arrive Monday at 8:20AM at Pembertonhuisje. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/06/04-forms-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-465 - Van den Bleeken to arrive Monday at 8:20AM at Pembertonhuisje. [on Nick Van Den Bleeken - due 2008-06-11].

<nick> markB: but with your approach the user can't style the non-relevant controls in another way then not visible

<John_Boyer> http://www.w3.org/TR/xforms11/#ui-case

<John_Boyer> http://www.w3.org/TR/xforms11/#ui-processing

<nick> we implemented a tab-control in our namespace that does that

<nick> yes

<nick> what happens if you add a submission listener that is attached to the model but is located in a non-relevant group in the markup

<nick> (just a side question)

<John_Boyer> We only detach action handlers that are attached to non-relevant form controls

<nick> ok, thanks

<John_Boyer> We don't specify anything that connects xforms notions of relevance to behavior of XML events

<nick> I don't like the definition of extend to allow change of behavior. If you have a processor that doesn't know the extension it should work the same in my opinion

<John_Boyer> Yes, but on the other hand we already have xforms:extension. We got rid of the mustUnderstand module because we thought CDF would handle it.

<John_Boyer> The extension mechanism itself needs to have a way of demanding that the processor understand it

<John_Boyer> At which point, it seems like we have a solution. Extend with "additional" behavior versus extend with "changed" behavior

<nick> we have extensions (using extension element, foreign namespaced attributes and foreign namespace elements) but try to do it in a way the form still works in a standard processor

<nick> mute me

<nick> but allowing to type in the control doesn't changes the 'behavior' the same events are sent and the result of thee form is the same

<nick> yes I always thought appearance only influenced the View, not the controller nor the model

<nick> but changing it once isn't good, but changing it to undefined after first changing it is even worse I guess

<Steven> tick

<John_Boyer> tock

<Charlie> zzzzzzzz

<Steven> tock

<Steven> OK

<Steven> I'll arrange for a projector

<Steven> if anyone is interested

<Steven> If anyone is in Amsterdam Saturday

<nick> that is also an option, or we can waych it in a bar

<Steven> I'm singing in a concert

<Steven> bye

<Roger> better in a bar

<Roger> bye

<nick> bye

<John_Boyer> bye, Roger
