Introduction

Incomplete draft: This document is an experimental editor's copy that has no official standing and is incomplete. It is provided for review and feedback only. Please send feedback to public-bpwg-comments@w3.org (archive).

Comment: Reviewers please bear in mind. This page is for those who have done MWBP and are moving to WCAG 2.0. It answers the question “I've done MWBP, how much work is involved in also complying with WCAG 2.0?” It therefore works through all each WCAG 2.0 SC one by one. The navigation bar at the top shows the structure of the set of pages. This document will be the focus of work at the moment. the “How it helps” pages will remain as drafts until this is complete (example of “How it helps” pages).

Summary of work required to make content that meets MWBP also meet WCAG 2.0

...These lists have WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria numbers linked to the Addressing WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria section below, and MWBP Best Practices linked to the Mobile Web Best Practices document. In the “Everything” section there are no SC links as there is nothing to discuss. This list is not ordered by the target compliance level. In practice, people will have some idea of what level they are aiming for and will want a list for that level.

Nothing, content that complies with MWBP already complies with these success criteria:

Something, more effort is need or a check is needed to comply with these success criteria:

Everything, these success criteria are not related to a MWBP:

Addressing WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria

WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria

List of success criteria described in detail:

Comment: ... The WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria numbers are linked to the corresponding section of the WCAG 2.0 Quick Reference...

[below cover WCAG 2.0 SC in numerical order. Only SCs for which there is some guidance are included. When everything has to be done there is nothing to discuss, so the SC doesn't appear.

QUESTION: Should this section include only the ones in the "Something" category in order to keep this section short & focused? Or, should it list all SC so that people can use this as a comprehensive list???]

1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A)

[Quote text of] WCAG 2.0: "All non-text content has a text alternative that presents equivalent information, except for the situations listed below..."

[@@ short instructions on what is needed [to comply with] WCAG 2.0 in relation to what is already done for MWBP. Links to related MWBPs in the Accessibility aspects of Mobile Web Best Practices section [above] @@]. In previous prototype this was “How has MWBP helped me comply with this?”

1.4.1 Use of Color (Level A)

Color is not used as the only visual means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element. (Level A)

No further effort is required. [USE_OF_COLOR] ensures compliance with this success criterion with no further effort. However, it is important to taken into account that unlike the MWBP, the accessibility guidelines specify the ways that color may be used.
