SkosDev/ModelClassifications

From W3C Wiki

Up to now Skos usage was mainly limited to Thesauri. This page is meant to collect information about SKOS and classifications.

UDC

The Universal Decimal Classification is one of the most powerfull (but also complex) classifications. In March 1990 a Task Force on UDC System Development wrote in a recommendation:

A "standard version" of c. 60.000 subdivisions, in English, in machine readable format should be created. It should be supported by a semantic network and have a much more consistently faceted structure than at present.

ClaML

ClaML (EN 14463:2007) is a simple XML application for the exchange and distribution of classification schemes. ClaML has been adopted by the WHO (World Health Org.) to distribute their family of international classifications.
