Payment Task Force 2013 Installable Payment Solutions

For there to be a level playing field for payment solution providers large and small, there needs to be a means to install payment solutions after a device has been shipped, as this would give end users the freedom to select payment solutions other than those chosen by the device vendor.

This could use HTML5 for the UI together with JavaScript running in an isolated sandbox, and using the web crypto API and the secure element API as appropriate. The UI would be presented in an IFRAME element as per the mozpay API. Payment solutions could make use of secure communications with cloud based services, or with secure elements, such as micro SD cards that would be supplied by the payment solution provider.
