Minutes
<matthias_samwald> http://hcls.deri.org/atag/explorer/
<kei> this demo is currently accessing hcls kb at deri
<kei> Matthias: more clever way of ranking by relevance is needed
<kei> Matthias: sparql query can be used to rank relevance easily
<kei> I'll play with it more
<kei> hcls kb update
<kei> Matthias: subset of dbpedia with mappings to MeSH was loaded into the HCLS kb at DERI
<kei> Matthias: labels and comments and definitions
<kei> Matthias: taxonomy
<kei> Matthias: in addition to mappings, atags extracted from literature were added to the HCLS kb with links to MeSH and SKOS
<kei> this may be applicable to the microarray use case.
<kei> Matthias: copyright issue -- need to be cautious
<kei> Matthias: migrating the kb to an upgraded system
<kei> Matthias: neurocommon KB is loaded into Virtuoso with specific loading program which is currently not working with Virtuoso 6
<kei> Matthias: neurocommon KB is working on it to fix this problem
<kei> Chinese Medicine journal special issue:
<kei> a special issue on semantic web for chinese medicine was announced to hcls group
<kei> the work that is currently explored in LoDD might be a good candidate paper
<kei> additional papers are welcome. no publication costs need to be paid by authors
<kei> deadline is Jan 31, 2010, but earlier submission is encouraged (early accepted papers can be published earlier).
<kei> F2F meeting
<kei> suggestions are welcome in terms of what to do for biordf group at f2f meeting
<kei> microarray use case update
<kei> Helen is working on the neuro gene expression atlas with a possible release on Oct 1
<kei> Eric made some contact with Helen's student (Talaai?) -- some example code was sent to the student
<kei> Eric: hasn't heard back from the student
<kei> Eric: relational/sparql mapping -- create a demo for federated query (like the COI example)
<kei> Eric: needs a relational database dump or direct access to the relational database storing the neuro gene expression atlas data
<kei> Eric: is it possible to have a unix account on an EBI machine for deploying code to access the new altas database?
<kei> will follow up with Helen
<kei> ask Matthias to review the use cases and questions
