LEFT DIAGNOSTIC MAMMOGRAM: 1/7/01. COMPARISON: 2/7/00, 7/29/00.

CLIN DATA: Follow up of left microcalcifications.

FINDINGS: Spot compression magnification views were obtained of the left upper outer breast. These show loosely grouped, rounded microcalcifications which are mammographically benign appearing. However, it should be noted that these microcalcifications are similar to the microcalcifications seen in the right breast which were biopsied and shown to be DCIS. Therefore, these microcalcifications may be slightly suspicious in this high risk patient.

IMPRESSION: 1. Loosely grouped, rounded microcalcifications in the left upper outer breast. By mammographic criteria, these microcalcifications appear benign. However, it should be noted that these microcalcifications are similar to those seen in the right breast which were biopsied and shown to be DCIS. Therefore, these microcalcifications in this high risk patient may be considered slightly suspicious and a needle localization and biopsy may be performed.
