I18N-ISSUE-419: term "NOTE" may not be friendly to users in other languages ⓟ [WebVTT] http://www.w3.org/International/track/issues/419 Raised by: Addison Phillips On product: WebVTT http://www.w3.org/TR/webvtt1/#comments Comments in a WebVTT file are introduced by the string "NOTE" in English. This serves as the same kind of marker that tokens such as # or // or /* */ do in some programming languages or formats. Using an English word is less accessible for international/non-English users than the use of a symbolic token.
