48-Hour Call for Consensus (CfC): Publish CAPTCHA Errata Update

Colleagues:

This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to the Accessible Platform
Architectures (APA) Working Group proposing the publication of an errata
update to our CAPTCHA Note:

https://w3c.github.io/apa/captcha/

***Background***

Following the publication of our Note we were made aware of an error of
fact in one sentence near the end of Sec. 2.1.2: Sound Output.

https://w3c.github.io/apa/captcha/#sound-output

The problem and proposed resolution is documented here:

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rqtf/2019Oct/0018.html

Our Research Questions Task Force (RQTF) has examined the issue and
recommends the resolution proposed in this CfC as logged here:

https://www.w3.org/2019/10/23-rqtf-minutes.html#resolution01

The sentence to be corrected is contained in the following paragraph.
Our proposed edit is included and marked by double brackets -- [[ ]]

"Unfortunately, non English audio CAPTCHAs appear to be very rare
indeed. [[As of this writing,]] we are aware of only one
[[stand-alone]] multilingual CAPTCHA solution provider with support for
a significant number of the world's languages."

Our proposal is to simply update the published Note without fanfare or
public announcement of any kind. This is proposed as a simple erratum
update.

***Action to Take***

This CfC is now open for objection, comment, as well as statements of
support via email. Silence will be interpreted as support, though
messages of support are certainly welcome.

If you object to this proposed action, or have comments concerning this
proposal, please respond by replying on list to this message no later
than 23:59 (Midnight) Boston Time, Tuesday 5 November.

NOTE: This Call for Consensus is being conducted in accordance with the
APA Decision Policy published at:
