[CSS21] response to issue 55

This is the CSS WG's response to an issue you raised on the last CSS
2.1 draft (http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-CSS21-20030915). We want to
publish CSS 2.1 as a CR in about two weeks. Please let us know this
week if you think our response is wrong.

    Section 7.3 (Recognized media types)
    <http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-CSS21-20030915/media.html#media-types>
    What does "The names of media types are normative" mean? What
    should a UA do when encountering an @media or @import rule that
    lists an unknown media type?

CSS WG response:

    Reworded the text: "names of media types are normative, but the
    parenthetical descriptions are informative.

    Also added: "Unknown media type identifiers should not result in
    the @media rule being ignored."

For the CSS WG,
Bert
