// discussion with JG on email

JG:
Hi Sorin,

I can't reproduce what you describe when clicking on the logo.
As for the back button, that is not how it works. This button doesn't make
requests to the server, it displays the page in the state it was when you left
it. So that's normal if it seems you're not logged in when using that button.
If you refresh the page, you'll see that you're indeed logged in.

Hope this helps.

Jean-Gui

SORIN:
I understand, but when you click another group to JOIN it prompts you to login again

Ian and JG discussed. This is a general caching issue; not specific to this site. Even if you have logged in, when you do "back" the previous page is not reloaded, so there is no indication that you have logged. Furthermore, when you click join, it merely opens a modal dialog (with no knowledge you are logged in). It is suboptimal to force a reload on back. So we will live with it.
