State of play as of 10/10/2019

CogaTF resource analysis spreadsheet.

Content Usable / Design Guide

This became a little confused but there is a proposed way forward

Currently we have 2 resources:

Content Usable

  • Audience: policy, commisioners, companies who want high level guide to achieving good cognitive accessibility. Contains an shallow overview of the content in Design Guide
  • Format: suggested that this should be a single page 'document' so is easy to include in other poilicy docs. Could be a web reource with a suitable single page view.
  • Life cycle: probably definite dated versions are required

Design Guide

  • Audience: designers Developers who want to know what to do.
  • Format: Interactive web resource with ability to show a single page version if required
  • Life Cycle: evergreen as devs want latest. Include dated change history. Can print dated single page if required
  • Implementation: the collapsable left hand contents is a mockup and a production quality component is required for the WAI website. Plus a way to generate a single page version is required.

Other resources for WAI website

  • Draft pages it's important to work with the EO and WAI editorial teams to sprinkle this content amoungst existing content so it is found by users and not in a silo. EG There is an existing persona page.
  • Project planning for the the WAI CogaTF resources.

WCAG 2.2 SCs

See Alastair's Tracking and sprint planning docs for AGWG. Rachael is driving this for the cogaTF.

I've been working closely with Jennie and John Kirkwood and keeping an eye on the other Coga related SCs as required. Had some great comments and suggestions from AG members.

Easy Reading Project

  • Selected a set of Patterns that match the ER project and updated the Web Design Guide to have these in the new template
  • User Testing phase is now starting so was planning to keep a close eye on this so can update CogaTF resources with learnings.
  • Introduced Susanne Dirk (Dortmund) to Lisa and Rachael as she expressed interest in being more involved with CogaTF
  • Planning to create a page of resources on WAI site for EasyReading items like the Peer Researchers Handbook (pdf). This might be the existing ER project page on the site or a new one
