Participation

Participation is open to members in good standing of W3C/WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (WCAG WG), and to individuals interested in participating in and contributing to the efforts of the WCAG WG. Any participants not already participants of the WCAG WG should read the WCAG WG Charter and the how to join page, and send the requested information to the WCAG WG Chair and staff contact.

Registration

Pre-registration is required of everyone attending the WCAG WG meeting. Registration is open until 14 November.

• 9:00 - 9:30 Introductions, Agenda setting
• 9:30 - 10:45 Discuss draft of Japanese Industrial Standard's Guidelines for older persons and persons with disabilities - Information communication equipment and services. In particular, Part 3: Web Content.
  • How does the latest draft of JIS Guidelines differ from WCAG 1.0? from WCAG 2.0?
  • How is the latest draft of JIS Guidelines similar to WCAG 1.0? to 2.0?
  • How well does the current draft of WCAG 2.0 translate into Japanese?
  • Future planning and coordination between W3C and JIS.

• 11:00 - 12:30 Continue discussion of JIS Guidelines and WCAG 2.0
• 12:30 - 1:30 Lunch
• 1:30 - 3:00 Discussion with Karl Dubost, Conformance Manager of the W3C, co-chair of the Quality Assurance Working Group and Olivier Thereaux, co-chair of the QA Interest Group about implementation testing of WCAG 2.0 and using WCAG 2.0 to gain implementation experience of QAWG materials.

Meeting rooms

The meeting will be held at Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel (refer to the next section, "Hotel" for more information). We have a different room each day as follows:

Transportation

From New Tokyo International (Narita) Airport:

1. Use Narita Express from Narita Airport Station (or Airport Terminal 2 Station, depends on your airline) to Tokyo Station (about 57 minutes),
2. Change trains at Tokyo Station,
3. Use Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Shin Yokohama Station (about 16 minutes), and
4. Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel is right next to Shin Yokohama Station.

Please buy the train ticket at Narita Airport railway ticket counter mentioning that you want to get to Shin Yokohama by Shinkansen so that you can get the discount for Narita Express. The price of the ticket is about 4,390 yen (it may vary depending on the day). You can also reserve Narita Express and Shinkansen tickets at the Japan Railways Seat Reservation Service [World eki-net] Web site. There are several other ways to get to the hotel. The detailed information and instruction will be available later.

Useful Tips

Power: 100V, 50Hz, Japan standard outlets. Power outlets will be provided in the meeting room.

Currency: Japanese Yen. (You may use OANDA Currency Converter.)

Weather: You may refer to wunderground.com for the weather of Yokohama.
