accesskey 2.0

Reform of shortcuts in HTML5

State:
OPEN
Product:
HTML 5
Raised by:

Opened on:

Description:
@accesskey was added to HTML4 with accessible intent, but turned out to be a half-baked design and the intent was not realized.

XHTML2 WG has designed an <access> element as a replacement, with input from WAI.

Getting a successful feature in HTML5 will require continuing attention from PFWG and WAI.
