Description

The aim of this task force is to provide feedback on external documents when it's relevant to the work of the IG or the Web Payments Activity. Providing appropriate feedback will help make liaison with the host organizations more effective.

Strategy

The task force addresses two fundamental activities:

  • Review external work and report back to the IG regarding the need for further engagement with that work.
  • Contact external groups to arrange for expert review of IG documents.

External Groups

  • Other Standards Organizations
    • X9
    • ISO
  • US Federal Reserve Bank
    • Security Task Force
    • Faster Payments Task Force
  • Merchants
    • NACS
    • MAG
    • NRF
    • AFP
  • Regulators
(It's not clear that regulators will be interested specifically in our standards.)

Content For Review

Active Review

The group hopes to provide some review of the following specifications. To this end, Bloomberg is setting up a portal to share documents in a secure fashion.

Specifications for consideration:

  • ISO 12812, parts 1-5 - Mobile Payments
  • X9.119 part 2 - Tokenization
  • X9.69 - Framework for Key Management Extensions
  • X9.73 - Cryptographic Message Syntax (XML and ASN.1)

Payment Messaging

We aim to provide some guidance in staying aligned with existing global messaging standards where it is possible and beneficial for us to do so:

  • ISO 20022
    • Business Process Framework
    • Data Dictionary (message composition)
  • ISO8583 (not currently planned)

Other Examination

Various well-known international standards may have use either in message definitions or in helping with glossary alignment.

Outreach for Review

Notes

  • Create a twitter feed so that people can share info about things crossing their desks
  • What is the plan for getting other groups to review our deliverables?
    • For Use Cases: X9 is standing by for the FPWD announcement. Steve Stevens offered to lead a group to review.
  • List key specs with short descriptions and relation to emerging architecture
