Template
Dummy data category
What
Express information about whether given content is intended for translation or not.
Why
Improper translations are sometimes funny, they make reading and understanding harder, and sometimes even impossible. In some cases extra translated phrase can cause actual harm. All of this can be prevented by marking untranslateable phrases in your document using the translate data category.

Localization Note
tbd
Terminology
tbd
What?
Identifies whether a portion of text should be treated as Terminology and provides reference to information about the particular term.
Why?
The correct identification and translation of terms has a major impact on the quality and consistency of transalted text. This data category allow terminology information to be seamlessly communicated between source authors, terminology managers, machine translation engines and human translators via CAT tools.
Text Analysis
tbd
Provenance
tbd
What?
Record the workers, companies and tools used in translating and revising translations.
Why?
Understanding which human translators or machine translation engines were responsible for translations enables translation project managers to assess their impact on quality.

Domain
What
Used to identify the topic or subject of a content. This allows for example machine translation systems to select the most appropriate engine and rules to translate the content or provides a general indication of what terminology collection is most suitable for use by translators.
Why
Context is an important factor in getting a translation correct. Providing some disambiguiation, even at a high level, is often critical in getting the proper localized content.

Locale Filter
What
Used to specifies that a node is only applicable to certain locales. For example to identify a legal notice only relevant for some regions.
Why
Making the distinction between locale-specific content allows to reduce the amount of text to translate. It also reduce costs and unnecessary efforts.
