F2F/London 2014

This page provides information about the SVG Working Group face-to-face meeting that will be hosted prior to Graphical Web in 2014.

Dates

We will be meeting for four days:

Friday 22 August
Saturday 23 August
Monday 25 August
Tuesday 26 August

Note we're not meeting on the Sunday. Also note that the Monday is a Bank Holiday, so there won't be many other people in the office that day either.

Graphical Web is 27-30 Aug 2014.

Location

Hotel information

Some suggestions near the Mozilla office are available on the Mozilla wiki.

Other possibilities (neither of which are particularly good!):

Novotel Blackfriars - Nothing special and not particularly close (30min walk; 2km/1.3mi) but it was cheap when I (Brian) stayed there.
Park Plaza County Hall / Park Plaza Westminster Bridge - This pair of hotels are nice, right next to the Westminster Bridge. Of the two, I think the Westminster Bridge one was nicer. Not particularly close (23min walk; 1.8km/1.1mi), a bit expensive, but otherwise good.
St Martin's Lane - Very close to the office, a bit expensive. Slightly discounted rate available by following that link and booking by July 30.

Airport

The closest international airport to the meeting venue is London Heathrow (LHR). Alternatives are London Gatwick (LGW), and Stansted (STN) (used for budget airlines, further from London). For shorter haul flights from the UK or Europe, London City Airport (LCY) may be convenient as it is closer to central London.
