Description h 2009-09-03 17:41:57 UTC
I just downloaded Amaya 11.2. I typed a few lines into a new document, then inserted a table at the bottom. Then I found that there is no way to place the insertion point after the table, so I can't enter anything after it. (By the way, your list of operating systems is out of date--no Vista.

Hello,

To do this, select the whole table (by pressing the 'esc' key or by clicking the 'table' element in the status bar that shows the current structure at the bottom of the window) and select the command Edit > Append or the command 'Append' in the contextual menu (or shortcut Ctrl-K). That will create an empty element after the current selection.

Thanks

I don't believe that providing a work-around resolves a bug report. Is there a reason why normal behavior wouldn't provide for moving the insertion point past the table?

The reason is that HTML is a structured language that allows one to create nested structures like paragraphs, lists, headings, etc. within a table cell. When the selection is within a cell, the normal behavior is then to generate a new paragraph.

If you want to create a paragraph after the table, you have to select the table (you can click on the word table in the bottom status line).

You can see also that Amaya proposes 2 different editing modes: Text and XML (the change can be done just by clicking the button in bottom line). In the XML mode, a Enter will create a new paragraph after the selected table. In the Text mode, a Enter will replace the selected table by create a new paragraph, so you have to use the contextual menu to append a insertion point after the table.
