Created attachment 662 [details] screenshot of the error that the installer gives I can't seem to install on Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex). I am not a "Linux Guy", so I don't know how to re-compile, or anything like that. (That's what every software company wants you to do if their package doesn't work.) I downloaded Amaya on my WinXP machine, and it works fine. It's just my Ubuntu box that's giving me fits. I have attached a screen shot of the package installer so you can see the errors I am getting. Thanks.

The solution is probably to execute: sudo dpkg -i ..../amaya_wx-R.V-1_i386.deb Let me know if it solves your problem
