I believe that the results of valskip-ren-003 (which I submitted, a year ago today!) are incorrect. The test aims to show that when an xml:id attribute is renamed to something else, the containing element is no longer retrieved by the id() function. In fact the expected results show the opposite - the element is retrieved.
