Rename the element axis; perhaps schema-element (analogous to the schema-element test of XPath); 
Rename the attribute axis; perhaps schema-attribute (by analogy with XPath's schema-attribute test);

Decided at October 2008 F2F: WG agrees to make the change.

Correction Oct 2007 F2F. Renamed to schemaElement and schemaAttribute to fit in with the camelcased naming of other axes.
