Description Jim Melton 2006-03-07 01:43:09 UTC
(Originally reported by Dana F.)

Should the update facility provide means to modify some components of the dynamic environment? In particular this question concerns the following components:
(a) the variable values
(b) the available documents
(c) the available collections

Should we be able for example to add a new document to the set of available documents ? Or should we be able to modify the sequence of items that is bound to a certain variable name as part of the dynamic environment ?

What about modifying the other components (e.g. implicit timezone, default collection, etc) ?

This will not be included in version 1.0 of the XQuery Update Facility. It may be reconsidered for some future version of the Update Facility.
